About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

Mary, Austin, and all the aides and staff at Home Instead have been great!
My brother and I needed full time care for my mom in her home since we were not local. Home Instead provided caring aides who were able to help her with daily living, take her to doctor's appointments, and make sure she was comfortable.
The office staff and schedulers were able to place caring aides for my mom and took care of last minute emergencies, keeping us informed.
I can't recommend Home Instead enough for in home care.

It is my pleasure to tell you I couldn't be happier with my daily care I receive
from my Dynamic Duo...Lisa and Kat.
They both go way above the definition of care-giver....they are so very thoughtful and help me to plan ahead and help me to continue to live independently and with much joy! Not only do they make my wonderful meals but they put together great pizza for my scrabble parties. They do my laundry and keep my laundry room totally spotless. They make sure i get my exercise and take me on errands to see the local scenery. If I have an idea of something i would like to eat or make or purchase, they help me figure out how to implement!
They are efficient and compassionate and careful and wise...they are God's hands in my life - making every day a special one - with a smile and such thoughtful assistance. It is my hope that I will be in the care of Home Instead caregivers for the rest of my days.
May Home Instead continue to have such wonderful angels on your staff, so that we old ladies may continue to have the many joys of their service and companionship.

My 98-year-old Mom is a client of Home Instead. Home Instead has provided above and beyond care for Mom. The caregivers are superheroes with invisible capes. They are angels with invisible halos. After Mom experienced two weeks of quarantine in a covid unit, her caregivers were once again able to come to her apartment. They patiently worked with her 24-hours a day for six weeks enabling Mom to finally return to normal. Now they work seven hours a day, every day. I am kept well informed of Mom's daily health, physical, mental and emotional. The caregivers fix Mom's meals, remind her of her meds, take care of housework and are wonderful companions to Mom. They arrive on time with smiles on their faces and in their voices. Wherever I go, I like to brag on Home Instead, the quality of personnel, the from-the-heart compassionate care and commitment that is daily manifested. The office staff are professional, helpful and every bit as caring as the caregivers. I consider every employee, whether office staff or caregiver, to be my dear friend and Mom's dear friend. At various times I have had to ask for caregivers to cover extra shifts. Home Instead provided. I love them!

My husband and I have been clients of Home Instead since mid October; just a couple of months. So far, everyone I've dealt with at Home Instead has been very helpful and friendly. We've been working with our second caregiver/companion, Alyssa, since early November and are very, very happy with her enthusiasm and creativity. She has helped my husband discover a n artistic streak in himself that he never used before. He's now painting by numbers and using an adult coloring book and enjoys it very much!
Alyssa has also taken him to the zoo and visited the local aquarium in addition to libraries to engage with Dave. They've also visited two local nature centers and of course, shopped and run some errands together. All this is done while I'm able to work at my full-time job, so it gives me much relief. It's a bit harder now that it's winter, but we do plan on some indoor projects soon, like a memory box that was her idea.
We're very comfortable with her and are thankful that she chose to work for Home Instead!

Home Instead stays in close communication with me concerning my mother. She is 89 and in an Assisted Living community.Her Home Instead care givers pass on a lot of information about my mom so that I always know what is going on.Scheduling can be tough but Home Instead keeps me informed of any changes and does everything they can to fill shifts if needed.Everyone has been easy to work with and makes me feel they really care about my mom.The care givers that have become my mom's permanent care givers are great. They sincerely care. My siblings and myself have a sense of peace knowing they are there.

My caregiver does most anything I Ask her to do. Except Clime ladders, do windows or pay my bills And I bet she would if l asked her. I have had staff call and check on me. as well

Home Instead is professional and sincere, with knowledgeable staff who bend over backwards as they say, to provide excellent care and service for Dad, who is still lucky to be living independent, but needs checking in which is provided 2 times a week. The Care Givers are just who you want coming into your parent's or loved ones home. They also do all they can to assist with appointments, groceries and pretty much what is needed since we, the family members cannot be there in-person, enough. We've had other providers and now happy to recommend Home Instead.

Home Instead has provided caring, professional aides for our Dad. They are diligent, kind, and arrive on time everyday. We can entrust them with helping our Dad start every morning with basic life needs. Plus, they are keeping everything clean & sanitized. Very necessary these days!
The aides are responsive to requests, and the director is a gem. You can share any concerns with her.

We have are having excellent service provided to our Dad with our Home Instead aid. She is very friendly and outgoing and a good match for our Dad. Our aid maximizes her time when she is at Dad's house, and we appreciate her laundry and house-keeping services. Mostly, it's good for Dad to have a "fresh face" twice a week ~ someone new he can talk to. He enjoys her company at breakfast time. It has been a positive experience thus far with Home Instead.

Home Instead has very considerate and professional staff and has matched me with perfect caregivers. Stacy is an excellent caregiver. She constantly goes above and beyond. Office staff will call to check on me when the caregiver isn't here. I love that kindness!

Keeping Mom Happy
Thanks to Home Instead my Mother is able to stay in her home.With our busy work schedules it is nice to know that she has someone checking on her. Although I talk to her daily , it is nice knowing someone is there checking on her. They help with making sure her daily needs are meet. If she needs medication or to go to the store they are their to help assist. They have been great . It eases my mind to know she is happy and able to stay in her home. Without the extra care this would not be an option. They are more than just a company they are now our extended family.
