It certainly helped for both of us having someone there with us.
One issue was that we asked for an aide a little late in the game, and we got someone and requested someone else, and they couldn't because of scheduling.

When she finally settled in and understood that's what she needed, it was good. She did resist them at first. When I ask for an aide to just help and monitor, it can be a tricky situation. We wanted the aide to engage her, but it was hard because my loved one had their own routine. Unless I'm specific with what I want, then it doesn't happen.
Whoever I spoke to on the initial intake was absolutely terrific. They were efficient in their communication with me. It was good to see them do that.

They were very caring people. He had dementia so he needed caring people and people who would keep him safe.

The supervisor nurse treated my mother like her own family. She volunteered to stay with my mother for a few weeks
They took care of my mom while she was in assisted living after she tested positive for COVID and I think they saved her life.

They could have improved their persona. She was happy to be there and did what was asked, she just wasn't proactive.
I thought they were very responsive, the company was wonderful, but the nurse practitioner was okay. It was very last minute and we got all that was left to help us out.

She has had mostly wonderful care, and they do a terrific job. The most helpful part is making sure she is doing well.
The aides have helped my wife tremendously, and it's superior care.

I would recommend them pretty highly. They were reliable. They came on time and did what they were suppose to do.

It's really hard to go to appointments where you're being put under anesthesia. It was nice to know that I had someone there to escort me.
They're friendly. The people who do the administrative stuff were wiling to work with me and help out. Their price was the same as it was a few years ago. It was affordable. They were reliable. They came when they said they would. It went smoothly.

From a staffing perspective they are poor to fair. Not sure whose fault that is, but for the 9 or so months I engaged them to provide an aide to help care for my father, who has a terrible neuro motor disease, I must have gone through 6 or so aides because they kept changing THEIR schedule. Not only that but I could never find a good rhythm in terms of the days and hours they could even get an aide to my dads place. Earnest admin staff, always apologetic, but after a while it really drags you down....The owner, who seemingly has no interest in actually helping people and only gets involved (and marginally at that) when it comes to getting paid. I caught them in an outright phantom charge! At first they argued with me, but even the aide said she was not there at the date and time they charged my father debit card for. I have to ask myself; how many other charges were completely made up? I trusted them and hardly ever saw a time sheet. Of course my father had no ability to sign off on hours physically, and would not be able to wrap his head around a time sheet anyway. They just charged the card for what I had asked for time-wise, with no oversight. They charged me based on nothing more than hand written time sheets, which I never saw! Shame on me for allowing that to happen but shame on Mr Merchant too. PROCEED WITH EXTREME CAUTION. WHENEVER POSSIBLE, IF YOU HIRE THEM FOR A LOVED ONE, CHECK IN OFTEN TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GETTING WHAT THEY CHARGE YOU FOR!! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

They provide companion care for my loved one while I am away.
They are a very professional services and they offer a lot of options for types of care.

One of the problems is they do not have enough caregivers to work all the shifts. The caregivers help me around the house and they help run my errands and they take me to doctor's appointments.

We were lucky all around with the service, but we just couldn't afford it. I was very happy with BrightStar Care. BrightStar Care got her up and helped her to walk around. f they were not there, my mom would be in bed all day.
