Right at Home provides personalized in-home care and support for seniors and adults with disabilities. Our caregivers are trained to help with everyday tasks that have become challenging. This may include meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, personal hygiene, medication reminders, mobility assistance, transportation and other tasks. We offer services for those with special care situations such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson’s disease and other dementias; diabetes; stroke recovery; and hospice care. Custom Care Plan
We know everyone’s needs are different, so we create custom, client-centered care plans based on our unique five-step approach to care. We take time to get to know you by discussing your health history, physical and cognitive abilities, daily routines, and personal lifestyle and preferences. This conversation is important to us because we want to help you determine the level and types of care you need and match you with the best caregiver to help you continue to live successfully at home, or wherever you call home.
Caregiver Training and Care Supervision
When you choose Right at Home, you can rest assured that our caregivers will deliver the care you or your loved one needs. Every caregiver goes through an extensive interview process, including background checks. We provide initial caregiver training through our Right at Home University before they can provide care, and we provide ongoing training to support best care practices. All of our caregivers are employed by Right at Home and are bonded and insured.

The services help me get a shower, that is the only reason I keep this caregiver.
I would like them to have more caregivers who are reliable. The caregiver tries to do something for 10 mins then she will stop.

It is hard for me to take care of her, so it has given me a chance to go to work on Mondays and Wednesdays.
It is still hard to find coverage on weekends, but it is possible, and if you need extra help, you have to ask the agency who can help someone who is bedridden.

They prepare meals, provide hands-on care for me, and do laundry as well as provide backup support for my other caregiver I have.
I'd like them to improve the contact they have with me as I have not heard back from them about not being able to provide a caregiver today which is pretty normal to happen, and I'm the one that always needs to call to get answers.

Right at Home Eastern LI provided both my parents with care, ranging from a few hours a day, a few days per week to 24/7 at home care. Care was specific, compassionate, and flexible. Everyone from their president (Jamie) to their care coordinators led by Laura, to their amazing caregivers/aides, we top notch. They got to know my family and my parents well beyond a typical agency. If you offered more stars, I would rate them even higher

They just need to been less on their phones and more helping my mom. They need to be aware of my mom.
They could maybe be more deliberate in their expectations. They could be more thorough since they seem to have information about what people complain about and so they could go over that.

The caregivers help the client get dressed and help her go to the bathroom. They are also really good at interacting with my mother, even though she has Alzheimer's.
The agency calls to see if we need any more aides.

They clean and are very aware of what needs to be done in the home. She knows when I need medicine. She knows when to comb my hair or wipe my face.

Right at Home is a very fitting name for this organization as that is exactly how they make the individuals entrusted in their care feel. The owner and the entire staff are nothing less than professional , kind and caring. The aids that took care of my mother were very attentive and made sure that all the needs of my mother were being addressed. They made my mother feel "right at home". This was extremely important to me as that was my mother's wish to be in her home. There were never any attendance issues. If there was a situation that needed to be address it was taken care of immediately. If I was ever in a need for services like this Right at Home is on the top of my list.

This is not an agency that a) you can reach easily; or b) cares about the people you entrust. They make money - lots of it. They send whomever they can, a very patchwork of care, not a committed plan. They have no expertise in memory care, but will tell you they do. They don't. They absolutely don't. They send different people, schedules change without notice, and most are unable to communicate clearly with the very people they are supposed to be helping. For people with memory care, this means extra stress, extra confusion, and this shouldn't be. If you truly care about your parents' care, especially if they are requiring memory care or a better level of care, please do not use this agency. They are just that - an agency making money. Laura and team are horrible, uncaring, and unkind. I assure you, from my own experience, please do your elderly family members a favor and skip this place so you have no regrets!!!

We had been discussing in-home care for my parents with Right at Home for a couple of months before we suddenly needed help due to the hospitalization of one parent. Jamie, Laura and the team very quickly organized a thoughtful and responsible set of aides.
My parents are not easy people and I was disorganized and panicked in my communications, but Right at Home handled it all professionally. Our family was able to relax a bit knowing that the parents were looked after.
