About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

We were very happy with the care provided and the hours we needed. Staff was very friendly and caring. We would recommend this agency as they also followed up on care and the aides.

The care-givers are wonderful and reliable. The agency is extremely professional and responsive. There is always someone available to speak with by phone or email. Home Instead makes being a long-distance care giver to my mother much easier and gives our family peace-of-mind. Their services have allowed my mother to stay in her own home longer. I would highly recommend them!

My father has received excellent care from Home Instead for over ten years. The dedicated staff have made it possible for him to stay in his apartment, remain independent and live in the community where he feels a connection. Home Instead has helped us with many issues large and small along the way- emergency medical situations and daily challenges. I live across the country from my father and they provide me with weekly updates so we can coordinate the care he needs. The staff helping my Dad each week are incredibly patient, caring and capable. They do a great job. We are both very satisfied with Home Instead !

The entire group of people who run/work for Home Instead in Saratoga are conscientious, thorough and caring. They aren't kidding when they say "to us it's is personal." I also must say that the two main caregivers we have Bruce L and Becky M are exceptional. They provide terrific, compassionate care and my husband likes them both. The level of dedication shown particularly by Bruce who has been with my husband the longest is remarkable in my experience.

Our Mother's Home Instead caregiver was a touching and constant source of comfort and companionship as our mother's needs grew.
To know that someone would be there when we could not was a great comfort to us. The assistance Home Instead provided to our mother in her day-to-day activities helped her to maintain her independence; and as her illness progressed, knowing that someone from Home Instead would be checking in on our mother was a relief.

Home Instead provided care for my mom on two separate occasions. The women that came were all professional and accomplished the tasks we desired daily. They left notes to let us know exactly what was done each day. I also received calls to let me know if something wasn't right.

The woman from Home Instead who primarily watches mom is older and very good and she's a good match. But she was having family issues, so I have another home care agency in case something happen. I don't want to start off with someone completely new. I wanted her to be already familiar.
