About This Community
We are a non medical private pay home care company that is devoted to safeguarding the independence, dignity and quality of life of our seniors and those disabled. We do this by sending compassionate, reliable and affordable caregivers into the place they call home. We carefully hand pick those whom we have determined have a natural love for people and who have had experience taking care of others. They each go through a rigerous interview process and we run background, reference and certification checks. We will not send you anyone who we would not trust with our own mother and father!

From your first call, we begin working on taking care of the needs of your loved one. We schedule a time to sit down for a care assessment and come up with a care plan that is specific to you. When we have the plan in place, our personal care coordinator will find the perfect match to follow the plan and provide the highest level of care.

Jordana is the second generation owner of Preferred Care at Home of North Westchester and Putnam. Previously owned by her parents Anthony and Beverly Mazzella, Jordana has been heavily involved in the company since it opened in 2012. With much passion for the company and industry, Jordana officially took over in 2016. Jordana is continuing to provide the community with compassionate, reliable and affordable service for seniors who wish to stay in the comfort of their own home. Together we bring 30+ years of experience to the home care field. We are a local community agency that lives right in your neighborhood and treats you that way. The agency was awesome at communicating with us. They really listened to our every need for our mom. The agency was sympathetic to our every whim for our mom and made sure it happened which was incredible. They responded to all of my phone calls with professionalism and concern.
The actual caretakers were inspiring because they seemed to really love what they were doing. The best part was that they were there to be a true companion
for our mom. Our mom was blind and her caretaker always took the time to let her know what the weather was like outside, what the time was and what was going on in the world. They were kind, funny and became part of the family.

Preferred Care provided excellent Companion Care as well as Liive In Care for my 92 year old aunt. The professional staff arrived on time and if there was an emergency the agency contacted me and would provided a replacement to care for my aunt. Our caregivers were friendly, kind, compassionate,funny and loving. They took excellent care of my aunt and would keep me posted on how she was doing daily. Preferred Care had gone above and beyond to fulfull my requests, meet my aunts needs and to help me every step of the way. The entire agency was a blessing to us. I would highly recommend that you invite them in to take care of your loved one.

I was so fortunate to have found Preferred Care at Home of Westchester County. Jordana, the owner, listened to me and quickly matched up my Aunt with her caregiver T. T was an amazing caregiver for my Aunt Jan. Not only did Jan receive fabulous care but T quickly become a wonderful companion as well as they genuinely became friends. She worked for my Aunt for 14 months, meeting all her needs. There is no doubt that her excellent care gave Jan a good quality of life. By using Preferred Care at Home, Jan was able to be at home, which was most important to her. I will always be grateful to Jordana and T for meeting all her needs. I highly recommend them for quality home care.

We have worked with Preferred Care at Home for 5 1/2 years. We have been very pleased with the caring and attention given to my mother by the administrative staff and aides alike. My mother had several long-time aides who took wonderful care of her - from getting back on her feet after hip replacement surgery to assistance at home for daily chores that kept her living independently. She grew quite fond of them. Preferred Care at Home was conscientious when aides were needed to fill-in on a daily, short term or extended basis. They were also helpful in adjusting schedules according to Mom's needs. Mom was 92 years old when she began services with Preferred Care at Home. She recently passed away at the age of 98. Even through recent surgery and rehab and with her passing the aides and staff showed concern, caring, and support. They helped her have the full life she had to the end.

My family has used Preferred Care at Home for several years now and they have always done a great job. All of the aides they have sent were professional and compassionate. They went above and beyond many times caring for my Aunt and Uncle. When my Aunt was hospitalized again they even visited and brought her flowers at the rehab. The aides do a great job, even with difficult cases such as my Uncle who has dementia and is almost bedridden. The owner (Jordanna) and the Office Manager (Stephanie) are just a phone call away if a question or a concern arises. I am grateful for the peace of mind they gave me knowing they were taking care of my family.

The two aides that Preferred Care at Home of North Westchester Putnam sent for us have been dedicated, friendly, and industrious. They seem reliable and actually quite good. If I were to rate the management, I'd give them a 4.

Preferred Care at Home took care of my father for a year. I cannot say enough about this agency. I was able to keep him out of the nursing home and provide care in my home. The owner Jordana, took the time to get to know our family before placing Aides with my father. We are very grateful for the care these ladies took. Whether appointments, meals, bathing or keeping him busy it was heartwarming to watch how they loved him. The Aides became apart of our family. If you are looking to keep a loved one home this is truly the agency to work with. It is a very difficult time and decision Jordana made this easy. I am very thankful for the treatment we received from Preferred Care at Home.

I have been with Preferred Care at Home, for more than a year now (that’s 6 days a week) I am very pleased with their professionalism and ease of contacting them if I have a concern. If I call, I either speak with someone right away, or moments later here back from them.
My Father, now 90 has had many health issues and back and forth from hospitals and rehabilitation centers. My caregivers honestly care, they contact me to find out about his wellbeing. He is treated like family, and sometimes stay with him in the hospital, or Rehab to instill their relationship, as we know with elderly people with dementia, if you aren’t around you might be forgotten, this hasn’t happened.
The aides place a person touch with what they do and how they handle their clients, this is what makes PCH, stand alone, it’s the personal touch and compassion that allows me proudly share my experiences with others and tell them all I know about this agency. This is MY Father, no one is expected to care or be concerned the way I fell about my father, or make sure that he is taken care of the way he took care of me when I was young. Preferred Care allows me to have this comfort, because they do! Thank you

Preferred Care at Home truly makes life easier in having extra helping hands, to care for your loved ones. Whether it's 24 hour assistance or a mere few hours a day, helping with errands and household chores, my elderly family members are assisted with knowledgeable, kind and compassionate individuals. I was most impressed when I talked to a person at Preferred Care Home. His approach was much more easy and open. We made a better connection right off the bat for me. From then on, using them, it was always a good experience. Everybody was always professional and reliable. If there was an issue, they always brought things to my attention. They were caring for my elder cousin. I have good things to say and it was a win-win situation. The only reason why we stopped using them was because he needed more care and so he went to an assisted care facility. I like them so much that I would refer them to somebody else.

Tony, the operator of Preferred Care, was extremely prompt and professional. He always asked the right questions and made himself available to meet with us. The whole experience was terrific. They gave us a wonderful care. I couldn't say anything bad about them. The caregivers were exceptional. They were above and beyond helpful. They were there for my mom when I couldn't be.

My father passed away and my mother has Alzheimers. I looked through some of my father's files and found that Preferred Care was one of the places he was looking into before he died. I gave them a call and we went from there. We needed 24 hour care for my mother. We've been pleased with their service. We've been very happy so far. Tony, the manager, is very good about responding quickly. I'm very pleased with the caregivers. Their billing system is very good. They've been billing us every week. They are very understanding if we have a problem with anything.

My wife was bedridden due to nerve damage in her back. It was heart wrenching to realize after 65 years of marriage I could not take care of my wife, even with my daughter's help. What was worse was thinking of a stranger coming into our house and providing such total care for her. I was given Tony’s name and met with him. I was so pleased with his sincerity and concern for my wife. After his evaluation, he explained what services he could provide and what his expectations were for her recovery. I was very pleased and hopeful after speaking with him, but still worried about the actual caregivers after hearing horror stories about nursing homes for years. I was wrong to worry. The caregivers were wonderful! They were always positive which was so important in helping raise my wife's spirits and give her confidence to push herself to recover. Even in one of the worst winters in 30 years, the caregivers came and took care of her, even Tony's wife. Their reliability was absolutely necessary due to my wife's physical needs, and they always came through. With their care and hard work my wife is walking again and getting better every day. My family and I are so appreciative for the hard work, dedication and true caring that Tony and his people showed us.

After my 89 yr old Aunt's back surgery and the ensuing complications, she came home bedridden and barely functioning. Our family knew that we could not provide the amount of help she required. After speaking with many friends and agencies, we settled on Tony and Preferred Care at Home. In speaking with him his caring and compassion shone through, and was also reflected by the caregivers that helped my Aunt. The caregivers not only provided for her physical needs, their constant positive attitude uplifted her spirits and most importantly, gave her the will to recover. They told her that with hard work and time she would get out of bed and walk, and she did! She continues to improve and we are very thankful for the help that Tony and the wonderful caregivers gave her.

I used the services of Preferred Care for several years for the care of my elderly aunt. I found the owners of the agency very caring and understanding of the needs for her care. The aides that were provided were loving and kind towards my aunt and I felt confident leaving her in their care while I needed to be out of the house.

My mother has been a client of Preferred Care at Home N Westchester-Putnam and has received the utmost care and attention. The company is professional and courteous from the first conversation and interview; my mother is very comfortable with her caregiver and we have the utmost trust in the caregivers high degree of caring and compassion. Through this agency, we found a wonderful woman who came a few hours a day, six days a week to assist with my Mom. We were very happy with the service provided to my mother to help make things a little easier for both of us! Thx Tony!
