The staff who are caring for my mom are great. They help her with her day, make sure she eats and does all her personal business. They also listen to her rambling with aplomb.

Back On My Feet
Before my recent surgery, I knew I needed assistance since family/friends are not in a position to help, but I wasn't sure where to turn or how to find good quality assistance. I narrowed the field to agencies where everyone was licensed, bonded and insured. In addition, Home Instead was the only agency I found that would help me get home from the hospital, helping carry my stuff, getting into a taxi, and up the stairs to my home. After that, Home Instead provided 24-hour care, and was flexible when I needed to reduce and/or change the hours. All of the aides were professional, polite, trained in helping me physically, and could go to the store or the pharmacy as I needed. They can also do some light housekeeping and will even do your laundry if desired. I hope I don't need them again anytime soon, but if I do, I would call them first without hesitation.

My 95 year old mother was a client of Home Instead Senior Care Brooklyn from September 2016 until January 2017, when she came to live with me in Pennsylvania. My mother, who continued to exercise and enjoy socializing well into her 90's, had become physically and mentally frail. A friend had a wonderful experience with Home Instead in a different state, so I decided to try the Brooklyn service. From my first tearful phone call to Home Instead (during which I shared my mother's entire life story) until my last conversation explaining that my mother was moving in with my family, every staff member my mother and I interacted with was extremely patient, compassionate, empathetic, and professional. I was truly impressed with the communication between office staff, providers, and clients! If I called the the main office to make a schedule change, the Home Instead staff person I spoke with told me how much my mother's caregivers adored her, and was always aware of the wonderful stories about my mother's childhood that had been shared during visits. I felt that everyone at Home Instead Senior Care Brooklyn really knew and loved my mom, and cared for her as if she were a family member. Senior care is a true calling for all who were involved in my mother's service plan, and not just a job. Providers often picked up games, puzzle books, and favorite food items for her, and one even had a friend who was a plumber fix my mother's thermostat! Although I left some microwaveable meals in the freezer, my mother's caregivers often had food delivered so they could cook a fresh, nutritious meal from scratch. My mother's caregivers still call to see how she is doing and to say how much they miss her. I enthusiastically recommend Home Instead Senior Care Brooklyn to anyone looking for in-home care for a family member.

We needed home care for my mom after suffering two strokes. From the moment I placed the call to home instead to the time the caretaker was not needed they were awesome. They came on a short notice, assessed the situation and we're on top of her care. I live in Virginia and was more than comfortable knowing mom was in great hands. Thumbs up to Kim and Caroline for working together to make the transition easy for all, including my mom and siblings

We had 24-hour care from Home Instead Senior Care so it was 2-3 people that were working during the week. They lived at my parents’ home and we had to get hospice care in the end for my father. Most of the caregivers were very good and caring for him. He had bone cancer and they were very gentle with him and handled him very carefully. They were also very helpful to my mom; doing the laundry and doing some light cleaning for him. They stayed with him in the hospital which gave him a little bit of comfort because my mom couldn’t travel with him back and forth to the hospital.
