About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

I have hired Home Instead to care for my mom Bea who had fallen and injured herself and unexpectedly came to live with me. The office staff that assisted me were very kind, very helpful and quick to respond to my unexpected need. The caregivers that come to help her are amazing and make her feel very comfortable in her new environment. They have been on time each visit (I work). They engage with her in activities (loves to play cards) and make her feel safe in her personal care. Very grateful for Home Instead.

3 out of 5 care assistants were not adequately trained in procedures: ie. arriving with adequate PPE. I was not aware that they were not supposed to crush medicines (later informed by management), but they did it anyway.
They were not able to support my schedule requirements - 4-6 pm, so after two weeks of waiting , I cancelled the agreement. It' s been 3 weeks, and I have not received my deposit refund.

Home Instead has provided in-home care for our 95 year old mother since 2018. Their employees are well trained, consistent, reliable, and genuinely caring. Mother enjoys their company and we can be confident she is good hands when we are away from home.

The agency provides my father with assistance so that he can continue to live in his home. Staff arrives on time and is prepared ahead of time because they read what has been written by me and office staff in the portal.
The care givers have all been kind, patient and knowledgeable. I have felt very comfortable with all of them, and I trust them and Home Instead Senior Care.
This agency has been very kind and patient with all of my requests. Finding the right schedule has been a challenge, but Home Instead Senior Care has reacted immediately and cheerfully to all of my requests and changes. Even after hours! They have gotten right back to me and been able to accommodate last minute requests.

My husband has someone from Home Instead come over and give him a bed bath. They're very helpful. The young ladies they send out are very thorough and professional. They know what to do. He had a stroke and they're interacting with him and helping his diction clear up by helping him talk. His diction is clearing up. He's very comfortable and they're very pleasant around him. I haven't heard any negative comments. I would definitely recommend them.

This is an awesomely incredible organization. They are dedicated, responsive, cheerful, caring and understanding. Their staff is well trained. With HomeInstead we feel as though and are treated like they are our family.

We are using Home Instead Senior Care. The caregiver does a great job and seems to be very skilled and caring. So far, everything seems to be good. It is very convenient. Their working times are very good, and they selected a perfect person for the job.

With your help and information you provided, I was able to get some direction for my sister and her husband out in Nevada. They are going to start using "Home Instead" for care giving at home. Donna was great about arranging her schedule to meet with us and explain all that they offered. The paperwork is still in the process because we're trying to get him VA assistance which will pick up half the cost which I felt was very reasonable to begin with. Thanks Again

Home Instead has been wonderful to work with. They stay with us 12 hours a day. My father is not the easiest to get along with, however, the workers from your company were great. He loves Enrique, and very much liked Ethan (Rusty). We are very new to this process and Donna was terrific!

My caregiver, Arnisha, is very helpful and courteous. My wife can't help me shower. Showering wouldn't happen if caregiver wasn't coming out to help me. I look forward to my caregiver coming over.

I'm a disabled vet. Judy is my caregiver. She does a great job taking care of me and also my apartment. But what sets her apart from others is she really cares. Caregiver says it all.
