I chose this agency based on the reviews, the TV ads and website information. I moved from California to Nevada at the end of September. Prior to that, I contacted the owner, Michael, in August and spoke with him personally. We spoke a couple times regarding my needs and he assured me that his agency could take care of me. I filled out all of the paperwork in advance and set up a initial meeting for when I came to Las Vegas. The paperwork forms included all of the specific care needs which I require. The initial meeting with the representative went very well. He was very well dressed with the Visiting Angels shirt and appropriate identification. He came and assessed my home environment, met me of course, and was advised of all my care needs and shown everything that I needed in my home for my care. He also assured me that his agency could take care of everything that I needed. I was given an initial introduction with a caregiver a few days later. The person who showed up was totally in capable of taking care of me. The person was 70 years old and hunched over. I need physical care and they were very well aware of that. I sent her home. My care needs started the next day, and I was sent somebody else and just hoped for the best. I need care twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. The morning person was working out fine, however she quit after two weeks to leave the state. The evening person was quite another story. I went through three in three days. These people looked like they came from the homeless shelter. Not one had on a uniform or scrubs and their hygiene left a lot to be desired. I requested a non-smoker and a few of them reeked of smoke. Only one of them was actually able to complete the job successfully. Throughout the month, I had to deal with people leaving the company, no-shows, people going out of town for days on end and having no caregivers due to caregiver injuries at other clients. I ended up hiring privately to handle most of the days that I needed, however I still needed Visiting Angels to fill in the gaps. There is so much miscommunication amongst the caregivers and the staff. I am sent I am sent on-call caregivers that have no clue what they need to do and are not qualified to do the job. Some days I am left without a caregiver at all and have to spend the day in bed. Two weeks into my time with this agency, my husband and I had a conversation with the owner regarding the situation. My care coordinator was changed from Hope to Britney. Nothing changed in my opinion. Today was the last straw and I told them I was done with them. My nighttime caregiver was a no-show earlier this week. I called them after she was a half an hour late and they told me that they just found out that she hurt herself and would not be coming in. She was also my daytime caregiver for the next day, so I was left without a caregiver that night or the next morning. I had to spend the day in bed again. I knew from a previous experience that anybody they get at the last minute will more than likely not be able to do the job. For the following day they sent a caregiver for me to meet to see if she would work the next night. I interviewed her and thought she would be OK until my regular caregiver got back. However she did tell me that she could not work that night and was unavailable for the dayshift as well which I needed since my regular caregiver was out injured. The miscommunication is unacceptable. They found me a replacement who they claimed would be just perfect for me. When she showed up it turns out she was far from right. She could not perform the basic duties and was sweating profusely. She came in smelling like marijuana. I sent her home early. I complained to my Care Coordinator and another member of the staff regarding the situation. I found out that they do not drug test their employees.
They no longer will let me speak to Michael, the owner, when I ask to speak with him. He no longer wants to talk to me now that I'm not at a new potential customer. I just now got a phone call saying that my situation needs to be assessed on Monday in lieu of them sending me a another caregiver since my normal caregiver is still out injured. This is totally unacceptable. I signed a contract and gave them a large deposit upfront. They were very aware of my situation upfront and also when we had the initial meeting at my home where everything was explained to them by my caregiver who flew from California to be with me the first week. Apparently it is my fault that their caregivers are not trained well enough or capable of doing the jobs they are supposed to do. I told them I'm done with them. Never consider using this agency. You have been warned.

2 stars only because when they finally sent a nurse out she was awesome. HOWEVER
Outside of that whenever you call this office they act like its a huge burden that your calling. No one is on the same page. We were quoted first $50.00 deposit then $100.00 then when they finally came out to conduct the interview they hit us with a $150.00 charge for deposit.
Followup from these folks is deplorable. You have to call back 3 or 4 times after leaving messages, and when we tried to schedule a nurse our "nurse coordinator" condescendingly replied "you know you have to schedule 3 days out"..... No we didn't know that... When we signed up V.A it was mentioned a 24 hour period is needed in terms of scheduling..
Were about ready to cancel this service for their poor customer service... Pretty awful.. Yelp review next.

I have the caregivers drive me around to doctor's office and other errands. At times, they do some dishes (wash) and keep me company.

Visiting Angels has provided me with excellent care for my husband who is completely bedridden. The Angels have been prompt for their scheduled times. They show compassion and give excellent care. I could not keep my husband at home if it werent for them. Hope, my coordinator, is very efficient, and each Angel has always done a good job.

My caregiver is excellent. She also has a good sense of humor. That really helps. She does everything in the house, without being reminded.

So far the caregiver I have is excellent. Carmen is flexible with her schedule and works very hard. I am satisfied with the care I receive from her. I would recommend a raise and paid travel time for mileage for such a hard worker.

The caregiver who comes, Patty H., is excellent. She doesnt have to be told what to do. She does it all. I enjoy her company. When she has time she sits with me and we talk. She gets 10+ in my book. I would suggest Patty to anyone I know who needs a Visiting Angel to care for them. She is pleasant if Im down and she tries to cheer me up. EXCELLENT employee.

Where do I begin, we are thankful for Visiting Angels. They were faithful and dedicated with the care that they gave my wife. They brought laughter and abundant love to our family and we will be eternally grateful. I never could have gotten through her last few months without them!

We got the service of Visiting Angels a year ago, and we had specific requirements, but the people they sent out didn't really provide care for the patient. They were there 2 or 3 days a week, for 4 hours a day. They weren't worth the money at all, and I wouldn't hire them again.

My boyfriend hired Visiting Angels, and the service and care are good. The scheduling and billing are going well. I haven't heard him complain about anything. I would say it's successful. They are professional, and the availability of caregivers is excellent. So far, the caregivers that we had experience with have been kind, caring, and reliable. I recommend them.

We hired Visiting Angels, and our experience was not very positive. There were 10 caregivers that were sent, but only two were capable of the things that the company claimed that they would be capable of. The others would come in and say they can't give showers or they don't know how to empty a catheter bag. One girl they sent was 9 months pregnant. If we need help again, we will not be calling them. We had them for three weeks. Billing was fine, but the person doing the scheduling was not very effective.

No contact with coordinator. Very poor organization in the local franchise. Looking for a new organization that works!

Visiting Angels is doing a superb job. We've been using them for probably a couple of months now for my mom. I talked to several different agencies and felt that they have the strongest program. She is very comfortable with them and she likes her caregiver. She is very personable and very helpful with her. It was a good match for her.

We've been using Visiting Angels for probably five weeks. They had more male people to act as companions and they were less expensive than the others. My husband needed someone to talk to besides me and the caregiver has done that very well. He is caring and he's a good match to my husband even though he is the same age as our grandchild. We couldn't ask for more.
