Home Helpers Home Care- A Valuable Partner in the Prevention & Protection from COVID-19
Everyday Home Helpers of Fort Lee is helping keep seniors and other high risk
populations safe and cared for in the comfort of their own homes CEO, Doug
Feltman, shares the critical measures Home Helpers exceptional Caregivers
are taking to prevent and protect the spread of this virus.
At Home Helpers Home of Fort Lee, the safety of your loved ones and our
Caregivers are our most important mission. In conjunction with the Center for
Disease Control (CDC) as well s the Home Care Association of America (HCAOA),
all Home Helpers Caregivers have been trained to recognize the symptoms of
COVID-19 in their clients and themselves, All Caregivers have also been trained to
follow the necessary protocols to prevent and protect from the spread of this
disease. This includes:
Wash hands frequently
Disinfect surfaces routinely
Check clients, yourself and your family for fever/symptoms daily
Maintain a safe distance always
Check in regularly before and after each shift
Wearing the Protective Protection Equipment issued by Home Helpers
Home Helpers of Fort Lee and surrounding areas including New York City, has
been awarded for four years in a row the "Provider of Choice-Best in Home Care"
designation by Home Care Pulse, an independent survey company.
And in 2020, one of our caregivers was awarded the Home Helpers
"Exceptional Caregiver" award from among every Home Helpers agency
throughout the country.
Home Helpers specializes in dementia care and is proud to have 10 Certified
Alzheimer Caregivers (CAC) who have completed a vigorous 5 month course and
passed a 3 hour exam. But all of our caregivers are given individualized dementia
training in order to do the proper mental and physical activities to slow the
progress of this terrible disease.
Home Helpers of Fort Lee is an Accredited and licensed agency and has been
serving Bergen County, NJ and New York City since 2008. We are a respected
provider of non-medical home care services that allow seniors to remain in their
homes through our programs of Physical and mental stimulation.

I feel more comfortable when they come. They help me prepare breakfast, clean, and do laundry. However, they are sometimes not patient enough about getting the client to cooperate.
The caregivers need to be more patient with the client. He has Dementia, and it takes time for him to trust.

That there is somebody with her 24/7; she is eating, and she is clean and taken care of. And they keep me in the loop.

We just had them for twenty-four hours. He needed a lot of care. The person who came was the best, but we also had to help.
The director there was very personal. He met with us and was very committed to give us the best services. He worked very hard to make all the arrangements.

I found the aides wanted to do things their own way and they were upset when I gave them directions.
They did pretty good, they do the job and they are reliable.
