Home Instead is a provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

Home Instead has been a pleasure to work with from the office staff to all of the aides who were sent to my parents home. A true group of caring individuals. They understand the stress on a family who is dealing with having to find care for their loved ones and they work to fulfill those needs and alleviate some of the burden and worry.
Specifics of services:
Personal Care service for my mother including bathing, toileting, feeding, ambulation
Staff always arrived on time.
Staff always courteous, attentive and professional.
Many staff I would say go above and beyond.
Agency has been very responsive to my request.

They Always show up and take care of my wife with Love and Kindness and they take care of all the paper work properly so we don't have to worry about them getting paid. They are knowledgeable and Helpful in all of my wife's issues it's like having family working in the home health care field looking out for you to receive the best possible care by trusted people who care about you. We have worked with other company's who say they will take care of you then just show up when it is convenient for them. Home Instead Senior Care does what they say they will do. They are Caring for an elderly mother so I can do my errands and make my appointments. So important to me to leave the house confident mom will be cared for!

We have been using Home Instead for a few months now and have recently had to increase services due to my father's increasing forgetfulness. We are currently having two visits a day. As we live out of state, it has become increasingly difficult to make sure that my father is safe and taking his medications correctly. Mike, Kelly and more recently Valerie have eased our fears and concerns. The responsiveness to all our requests are received positively and any change that is needed has ALWAYS been accommodated almost immediately. We usually only have services during the week, but there have been occasions when the weekends were needed and the agency has been able to pull coverage together for us quite quickly. It has been an extremely positive experience all around. My father loves having the company and it is keeping him more social and giving all of us some peace of mind. We highly recommend Home Instead - Waretown, NJ.

I used Home Instead when we took a vacation & needed a line-in for my Dad. Even before an aide was placed with my Dad I dealt with extremely professional & caring people to initiate the process. The Aide they gave to my Father was very nice & caring, I left knowing my Dad was in good hands. I would highly recommend this agency to anyone looking for peace of mind when choosing the care of your loved one

My husband had a brain tumor on brain stem. During surgery, he had a stroke. He needed to learn how to walk and talk again. Unfortunately, after 5 months, I had to return to work. Home Instead came in and explained everything. The caregivers they sent to me were compatible to my husband's needs. They became family and truly cared. If for some reason aide couldn't make it (which was rare), they send another one that was compatible. They read the history of reason before they come to home. I am very grateful to Home Instead. It is peace of mind when I can't be here.

After my father passed away, my sister needed respite care as she was our mother's full time care giver. Our mother had dementia. Home Instead of Waretown NJ respected our need for special, loving care for our mother to give my sister some breaks during the week. The care givers were kind, loving and attentive. They made us feel that our mom was left in a safe environment when we weren't there.

My caregiver is wonderful with my husband. She is always on time and really shows an effort to help me as well as him. The staff at home instead has been very helpful with all my concerns and in helping me with all my questions. I appreciate it so much.
This is a very trying time for our whole family and I am very thankful to have help.

I highly recommend Home Instead Waretown. They have given us peace-of-mind knowing that our Mom is well cared for. The caregivers are kind, compassionate, reliable and respectful. The office staff is extremely responsive to changing needs and has been able to accommodate the needs we have expressed.

Home Instead Senior Care has been a Godsend to me and my sister over the past years. I live out of state and my sister lives a good distance away from our Mom. At age 91 we new that Mom needed a live in caregiver now especially with Dementia setting in. Home Instead has worked with us in sending the right person to attend to my moms needs.
We feel very fortunate to have an exceptionally nice live in caregiver from Home Instead who is caring and professional and that gives both my sister and I peace of mind knowing mom is well taken care of.

I live in Missouri and was trying to get help for my parents in NJ- after I contacted Home Instead they got back to me immediately and I called a few times and they were just so helpful to me. Their services were just what we were looking for. Unfortunately I have been unable to get my father to make use of their services for my mother but it sounds like the answer to my and my sisters prayers. We are just unable still to get my father to use Home Instead.
