About This Community

John Walker started Caring for People Services of Omaha several years ago after losing his son, Thomas Layton Walker to cancer. During Thomas's battle with cancer, John watched his wife Virginia, care for their son day and night. "The idea sprang from inside my heart, I needed to start a company that really takes care of people." "Our motto is that our company always goes the extra mile for our clients."

John believes it is very important, while evaluating a potential client, to speak to all family members involved to see where each loved one is coming from. Even in a difficult situation, where an elder may not want care provided for themselves, John introduces his employee as simply a companion, then slowly moves toward being in the home more often to fulfill each and every need that client may have.

The foundation of John's company is based on the belief that every caregiver must provide the highest level of quality service to each and every client. When recruiting caregivers, John sets a very high standard with a rigorous interview process involving multiple interviews by a broad range of staff. John is a strong believer in taking good care of his employees. He offers an above average salary range, has created an outstanding bonus program, makes sure to celebrate each and every birthday, offers a 401K savings plan and paid vacation. "No one comes close to our benefits," he says. "It shows in my employees, because they provide excellent care and they love what they do."

Caring for People worked with me to provide care for my Mother while we were on vacation. Mom liked her caregivers, and we felt secure in the knowledge that she was being looked after by conscientious and caring people. We have now used them twice and recommend them!

My Mother was recently in need of extensive care and these ANGELS (as my Mom referred to them) allowed my sweet Mama to live the rest of her days in her own home. I appreciate the extra attention and love extended to her as she failed; Burger King and fresh flowers are certainly not part of doing business, those are loving acts of kindness and caring, straight from the heart. I am grateful that nursing home was erased from the horizon as this agency worked with family schedules to be with Mom when we could not. This experience reminded our family that kindness does still matter and exist! May God bless this agency and these angels as abundantly as they blessed my dear Mama and our family!

My husband and I have had Caring for People Services for 6 years. We never had a problem. They always come over with a new provider and introduce them to us. They always follow up to make sure they have a good fit. They always go the extra mile. The President sometimes calls for a personal visit. Our current provider is very helpful, cheerful, doesn't smoke or use her cell phone. She is super nice and makes us feel comfortable in our home. Our previous company did not follow up and sent employees who didn't care. We feel very blessed.

"¢ I have Cerebral Palsy, and I'm and dependent on the help of others for all aspects of care. Caring for People Services is an outstanding company that meets all my needs. They assist me with meal preparation, transferring, toileting, showering, clothing and transportation. The most impressive thing about this company is that they have never missed a shift in the four years that I have been with them. That's right; they have NOT missed a single shift in 1460 days! The fact that they have never missed a shift speaks to their dedication and desire to provide you with the best care possible. They are super friendly people who can relate to your situation. I couldn't be happier with the services they provide. 10/10

Caring for People Services has provided excellent in home non-medical care for me. the agency's owner and office workers, as well as some of my caregivers have gone above and beyond the call of duty for me many times. I am able to pick workers that match up well for me. the agency makes it clear to their workers that in my own home, "I am the boss" which helps me maintain control of my life and dignity as a person. My quality of life has definitely improved since I switched to this agency for my transportation, errand, cooking, and laundry and housekeeping needs.
