We are using Home Instead. It's good. They have a variety of employees, but we're working with them. My mom has worked with them more than us. They're nice people. They're providing daily care, cooking, cleaning, assistance, and they monitor the medications. They document what she does and things like that. She would prefer less people than they bring in. It's more than two people a week, and she would prefer a steadier balance. The scheduling has been good and the billing is fine.

Everyone's great to work with. They answer all my questions and are very helpful when I have special requests.

The Home Instead has been so helpful for my family. The team in the office is very accommodating to fit with my parents' schedules. They feel the caregivers really do care about them. They both appreciate their help and enjoy their company. The caregivers always show up when they are scheduled to be there and are very flexible about what services my parents require.
Having Home Instead caring for my parents has provided our family peace of mind because a lot of us live out of town. We know that they are being well cared for.

Caring for aging parents is always a challenge, but Home Instead has helped fill the gaps and ensure that my father has excellent care exactly when needed. Our home health care worker is amazing and the communication from the whole team is superb. Home Instead has great systems that make every aspect of working with them a breeze.

I have had in-home help for several years, typically three hours a day, three days a week. I was, during this time, the sole caregiver for my wife whom I had married in 1953 and who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2005. The "girls", and I use that term loosely, were all very good with my wife. They would engage her in conversation when possible and do things for her as her schedule demanded. Some of the time they were successful in getting her to look at her old photo albums (she had been a good amateur photographer). They would prepare appropriate meals as necessary, and generally try to sustain a good mood. They helped with light housekeeping chores such as laundry and dishes. They were always cheerful and forgiving of insults that the Alzheimer's engendered. I found them totally trustworthy and a joy to have as part of our household. I would recommend them to anyone in a similar situation.
