About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

We utilized Home Instead with my father and from the first call all the way to where the services were not needed any more, everyone was warm, welcoming and provided excellent care to everyone in our family but especially to our father. I give them a 10 out of 10 !!

My family enlisted the services of Home Instead to provide 24/7 caregivers for my father. We initially consulted with Rebecca and Joan to discuss Dad's needs and personality. The caregivers have all been wonderful in caring for my father and me. They are compassionate, patient, knowledgable, dependable, friendly. My father lives in a CCRC. I asked several residents, employees, and friends about hiring caregivers and Home Instead was the one constant in the referrals that I received. We are so glad we went with Home Instead and would recommend their services to anyone asking.

My husband and I were very impressed with the organization of Home Instead Senior Care. They answered their phones promply and were on call 24-7 for us when mom was a patient of theirs. I would recommend them to friends and family without hesitation.
We found them via TV commercial and found them a delightful group of people to work with over the years.

From the day we called Home Instead, my husband and me were impressed with the attention the ladies in the office gave us. We spoke for nearly an hour our first conversation and settled on a time that week for a consultation.
We set up service for a few days per week and were happy with all the care aids that Home Instead provided us.
We had service for over 4 years and truly don’t know what we would have done without this company in mother’s last few years. We kept her in her home and made life as good as possible.
We highly recommend Home Instead. Their office personnel and aids were first class.

I’m late in posting this review, but I want to let others know about Home Instead, and the good care they provide. My 100 year old dad was brought home from the hospital on Hospice care, but he also needed round-the-clock care. Home Instead provided wonderful caregivers for him. From the beginning, they were caring, knowledgeable, thorough and professional. I worked with Rebecca to get the schedule set, and she went above and beyond to make sure he had good care. I will definitely use Home Instead again. Thank you to all involved with my dad’s care, and for your compassion when he passed.

HomeInstead has cared for both my parents — beginning with occasional assistance to round the clock care. They have been steadfast partners in my parent’s care and proved themselves flexible and creative as my parent’s health picture changed. I could not have done it without them. My parents choose “aging in place.” Homeinstead made that not only possible but better than other options, by far.

We enlisted Home Instead to help our disabled sister who visited Raleigh over Thanksgiving. Our coordinator, Susan, asked pertinent questions and totally understood our needs. She proveded an AWESOME caregiver. I am delighted with the caring and sensitive services that we received. It enabled us to have a Thankful Thanksgiving!

Home Instead staff are excellent! They are caring, dependable, and very trustworthy. They arrive on time and very responsive and attentive. I highly recommend Home Instead. The scheduler is very patient in working with the family and is very thorough in finding out what the specific needs are.

I have two caregivers that comes in weekly. The caregivers typically arrive on time, unless their is scheduling mistake with the office. My mom enjoys her caregivers. I have great communications with both of them. They are very attentive to my mom's needs. The agency has gone beyond their scope and has given me references of LTC (long-term care places).

Home Instead has been in our home for five years now -- at first, just 3 hours a week and now we use them 24/7. As this company grows, our respect and admiration grows along with it. That isn't always the case, is it? The things we like best are (1) they are great at matching the needs and personality of the client with the skills and personality of the caregiver and (2) the staff takes our family's concerns seriously and addresses them in a timely manner. We feel really lucky that we found this company when we did.

I like the way Home Instead operates. I only need somebody for a very short period of time weekly or biweekly or monthly, and they set the bill. The caregivers are good. In terms of scheduling and billing, there’s no problem.

The quality of consideration given to my preference is excellent and the caregiver is friendly and thoughtful. We have learned from each other and our home is a pleasure to be in; I had not been able to achieve that on my own and the more I do, the more we can just chat. We will be going shopping soon and I anticipate this!

I have used Home Instead in Raleigh, NC for almost four years for the care and companionship for my elderly mother in my home. Home Instead was careful to select caregivers that would be compatible with mom. As a result, I have been fortunate with caring and conscientious companions and feel like they are a part of our family. I have been pleased with this agency and would recommend it to my friends.
