About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

They provide a caregiver 4 hours 7 days a week. They are here when expected and the length of time expected. We have great rapore with them and we consider them family. When we have to change times for outside appointments they work with us and find replacements when our regular nurses must be absent. They are wonderful to work with and very helpful. I highly recommend them.

My family share my appreciation for both the helpful caregivers and the office support staff. I don't know what I would do without them. As my needs have changed over these past two or three years, we have worked TOGETHER for continued support. Over the years, I have had caregivers come and go, although never at my request. My 92 year old mother needed assistance at home after undergoing hip surgeries and neither my 94 year old dad nor I could take care of her full-time. We chose Home Instead to help. Staff and caregivers have been very caring and helpful, taking care of both mom and dad with kindness. I have been contacted regularly about mom’s progress and any concerns the caregiver may have. I would recommend these caring people to anyone in need of home health care.

Home Instead offers in home services for those of us seniors that need to age gracefully and safely in our home surroundings. The services are for private pay and cover a range of supportive care needs tailored to meet each clients needs. My caregivers offer encouragement moral support and personal cares, all with a smile and good sense of humor. I have used Home Instead for 2 years and highly recommend them

Home Instead provides top notch caregivers that go above and beyond when caring for your loved ones. They interact and actually do things with my loved one...not just watch tv!!! They take time to get to know my love one! The agency has also quickly responded to any all requests we have had.

Home Instead of Liberty, MO has provided top quality care for my mother. They check on us regularly to make sure all is going well with her, the caregiver, and the family. They provided us with a GrandPad, a wonderful interactive device that allows our entire family to stay in contact with my mother. She also loves the games on the device...a bonus. Our caregiver has gone above and beyond to build a relationship with my mother and our entire family. She works hard daily to provide stimulation and involve her in daily activities. I would 110% recommend this agency!

I lost the ability to walk in 2013 Have been in a wheelchair ever since I don’t think I could have stayed in my home safely without my caregiver coming twice a week She takes care of cooking, cleaning, laundry, getting me to appointments, etc She is also great company as I live alone and can’t get out Home Instead has been great to work with!

We hired Home Instead. They have been very good, very thorough, and very helpful. The communication is good. The caregiver is positive and professional. They assist my mother in going to doctors' appointments, they clean around the house, they prepare meals, and they assist with exercise and therapy. I highly recommend them. Home Instead has been able to accommodate and make things a positive experience for my mother and our family.

We have a person from Home Instead coming in one day a week, and so far we have had a good experience. The owner came and talked to us; we were impressed. This is all we need right now. She gives my mother-in-law a bath, washes her hair, does some vacuuming, and dusts. She makes sure that she is on schedule with her medication, but she is here for 3 hours, so she does not really do too much of that.

They were knowledgeable with the sit-to-stand lift and were always smiling. If someone was off, we could always count on a replacement to take the shift. We couldn't have done it without you.

Home Instead has been a good bridge from independent living to assisted living facility. In 5 months of care 3 mornings a week, my mother realized she had become isolated in her apartment and enjoyed having someone to come, cook, clean, and converse, and she desired it everyday instead of only part-time.

My family LOVED working with Home Instead. The first time I ever called Home Instead to inquire about in-home care for my parents, I actually spoke with the director who was able to explain what is covered and not covered by Medicare. He also pointed me in the direction we needed to look for assistance. I found the organization as a whole extremely resourceful. The caregivers assigned to my parents took excellent care of my parents, especially my dad who had Parkinson's disease. My siblings and I felt at ease knowing that each Home Instead caregiver would treat our parents with gentleness and dignity. I would highly recommend this agency to anyone looking for affordable in-home QUALITY care.

My Dad's caregiver, Marilyn found Dad crying "HELP" but she couldn't get in the house. I was out of touch so she called 911-they entered thru the bedroom window and took Dad to the hospital. Marilyn stayed with Dad at the hospital until I got the message and arrived. I and my family are so very thanksful for all Marilyn did for Dad. He so enjoyed her companionship. She was truly a blessing! I chose Home Instead to provide care for my Dad. We are very blessed to have Marilyn.

We were very pleased with the service provided by Home Instead. They treated my Dad with dignity and compassion. They involved him in the process at the beginning and kept him informed along the way. All the caregivers assigned to him were competent, friendly and caring. Very shortly, my Dad began looking forward to the arrival on more than one occassion. I had to request additional coverage on short notice and they were always able to accommodate me. I especially enjoyed working woth the owner and his staff. They truly care about their customers and their customers' families.

The services that Home Instead offers fits perfectly with the needs of my parents. Our caregiver is Bob and he is wonderful! He is always on time and in a great mood with a huge smile. I love the way he greets my parents and is so respectful. He is very patient and kind. I like having an extra "set of eyes" as he may notice something that I missed. He communicates well with me and leaves good info in the log book. Bob comes to my parents' home twice a week and helps with personal care for my father.
