Our experience with Griswold Home Care for Anoka County has been very good. We've had a couple of things, whether it's been because of the weather here in Minnesota or if one of their workers has been sick, they've done a really good job of finding someone else to cover the shift. We've had a few different caregivers and my mom has liked them all. They work hard. They do some light housekeeping and things like that, too. They do laundry, they'll do the vacuuming, and they're making her meals. She doesn't need help in the shower, but they stay nearby while she's in the shower, just to make sure she's safe.
I liked the owners. There's a couple that own the franchise and they just made a good impression. We have to pay them for a four-hour minimum, but the one thing that I liked is that they didn't have a big weekly minimum. They didn't say they have to have 12 hours a week or 20 hours a week or 40 hours a week. They were much more flexible on a weekly minimum basis than the other companies.
They bill weekly and they do pretty well. I haven't done too much last minute, but they seem pretty flexible and accommodating. They're working on building their staff, but they work hard to be accommodating if you have some last-minute requests or changes. They like 24-hour notice, of course, understandably, but they've been very, very flexible.
