We used Friends of the Family for my dad. They had one person that we liked and she was very good. Her tasks were to assist dad with PT and OT activities, get him out of bed, and get him ready for bed. We had issues with the other caregivers. They claimed that if one caregiver couldn't arrive, they would provide another one and that there'd be a handoff to it, but they're not really good with that. When I told two of the caregivers about tasks that they were supposed to do, they said they don't really do those, so that was a little frustrating. The one person we had to keep re-explaining things to, but she was just very conscientious about what she wanted to do, so that's why she kept asking. She would constantly ask, "How do I do this?" and, "What do I do?" I would have to send little notes to her to help her get through the tasks, and it took away from the time I was hoping to focus myself. However, her attitude with my dad and her disposition were wonderful, and she was always prompt, so she was very good.

We did some interviews and chose Friends of the Family based from it. They would come four hours on Thursdays which is my busiest work day. It's mainly just to keep an eye on my dad so he doesn't fall while I work. They would come and sit with him and give him dinner. They also engage and talk with him which I think is important. Everything's good, I will recommend them.

I have been with Friends of the Family for six years now. They help me with assistance of daily living. My caregiver is fantastic. He is always on time. He makes my meals, does a good job in keeping the house in order and gets something I need from the store. He really takes care of me and my cat for me.

We use Friends of the Family three or four days a month, for about three hours a day. They are fine. They come on time, and they do what they say they are going to do. We have been satisfied with them. I will probably recommend them to others.
