About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

Our aunt died last week, and my sister and I had to travel out of state. Mom is unable to travel due to her medical conditions. We require 24/7 caregivers, we were a little nervous, but each caregiver was just as caring and committed as Stephanie.

The care provider has been such a blessing. Their kindness and full of energy has been a wonderful help with personal care, as well as assisting with daily chores, organizing errands, and spotting ways to improve safety. Wonderful companionship and care.

Home instead has been very helpful in finding caregivers for my 88-year old mother. Mom suffers from dementia, and the caregivers have been wonderful in helping her and work through these changes.

Mom's caregivers are exceptional. I don't know what we would do without them. They are caring and patient and have done all that has been asked of them and then some. They are professional and reliable. Mom loves to play cards. They play cards with her every day which has enriched my Mom's life. Can't thank them enough!

We were blessed to have Frederick's Home Instead caregivers provide daily visits for our dad who lived alone and needed help with chores and shopping. The staff was wonderfully responsive to our shifting needs and unpredictable schedule, and everyone was consistently positive and helpful. We appreciated the professionalism, problem-solving, and friendliness that characterized our every interaction with them.

The helpers who have come are willing and able. Some will proceed to do things. Ive asked with little or no supervision, those who need a little guidance accept it in good cheer and are willing to do more than theyre told to do. Each helper has been just thata big help.

The office staff is great and often find caregivers on a moment's notice. They work to match up my mom's preferences. My mom loves the caregivers she has now. Out of all the caregivers we've had in 5 years, there has only been one we didn't like.

I had someone come on two occasions from Home Instead. It was short term. The caregiver was excellent. I was completely comfortable with her. They provide assistance with housekeeping, chores and laundry, assistance with walking, and practice outside. She reached things I couldn't reach. She was generally very helpful. Whatever I needed, she was agreeable to doing. The scheduling was very easy. We chose it because it had a five-star rating, and that was a good indication.

Carol has been great as a caretaker for my Mom and we're happy to have her twice a week. She's prompt, responsible, and professional along with having a friendly and welcoming personality with my Family and my Mom. Carol helps my Mom complete all of her needed tasks during every visit and goes above and beyond what is needed. We would definitely recommend her for anyone else seeking a caretaker for a Loved One.

My parent has home care now from Home Instead. It was one that was recommended by her primary doctor. We have been using them for about two months now. We're very pleased with the regular person that we have for her. She is fantastic. She would come in two days a week. She does light housekeeping and cooking. She would be there as a companion for my mother. However, with the holiday, there was a substitute who came in her place and she wasn't as good as the regular. We did let the company know though. Overall, the company is very good.

First rate service. We used Home Instead for my Mom. she had two different care givers both of whom she loved. They actually did a personality match to provide care givers who had shared interests with my Mom. She was a huge nature lover. The office staff was very helpful too and came out with the care givers for their first shift to do introductions and make sure my Mom had everything she needed. Zero complaints!
