Right at Home provides personalized in-home care and support for seniors and adults with disabilities. Our caregivers are trained to help with everyday tasks that have become challenging. This may include meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, personal hygiene, medication reminders, mobility assistance, transportation and other tasks. We offer services for those with special care situations such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson’s disease and other dementias; diabetes; stroke recovery; and hospice care. Custom Care Plan
We know everyone’s needs are different, so we create custom, client-centered care plans based on our unique five-step approach to care. We take time to get to know you by discussing your health history, physical and cognitive abilities, daily routines, and personal lifestyle and preferences. This conversation is important to us because we want to help you determine the level and types of care you need and match you with the best caregiver to help you continue to live successfully at home, or wherever you call home.
Caregiver Training and Care Supervision
When you choose Right at Home, you can rest assured that our caregivers will deliver the care you or your loved one needs. Every caregiver goes through an extensive interview process, including background checks. We provide initial caregiver training through our Right at Home University before they can provide care, and we provide ongoing training to support best care practices. All of our caregivers are employed by Right at Home and are bonded and insured.

We're currently using Right at Home Forest Hill, MD for my husband. They help him get to doctor's appointments, fix him lunch, or if I had to go somewhere, they'll take over for a couple of hours. Just simple things, they take care of him, have somebody to sit with him or do chores and basic things I would do if I was there. The caregivers were wonderful, and do the plan they had with what they were supposed to do. There was no problem with the billing and scheduling.

They have been awful and not consistent in the administration. The caregivers are great and gentle.
I am very reluctant, but it is not the people that care for my mother, it's the higher ups.

They allow me to go out and do things on my own while they come over and care for my father.
I like that while I've worked with other companies, they aren't perfect but they are great with getting people out and getting responsible people.

This review is for the Right at Home office in Forest Hill Maryland.
I hired them for caregiver services for myself while my husband was away for a weekend. I spoke to three different people and expressed my needs to them. I also paid in advance. When their caregivers arrived, they were totally unaware of what they were supposed to do. At one point, no one was scheduled to help me, and if it wasn't for a friend who came to my rescue, I would've had to lay in bed for nearly 18 hours without food or access to a bathroom. I gave them two stars only because their office administrator came to my house and offered a sincere apology. I cannot recommend them as a home health care service. They dropped the ball with me.

The biggest thing is that when we went with the company they said I would get the same person every time but that hasn't happened. I don't know if they don't have enough help or what. They switched my time and they sent a young lady from 11-3 and nobody called and told me.
Everyone they sent has been qualified and very nice.

It's a little bit disappointing. There's not much impact.
My husband doesn't really respond to activities. He's able to do quite a bit himself and doesn't need a lot of help.

It was a relief to have that reliable person come by and take care of mom. We learned that we needed to ask a bit in advance for additional care. They couldn't always accommodate a change we needed to make if we didn't request it far enough in advance.
I definitely thought they were good. They were considerate and competent in taking care of my mom. She is not an easy patient to take care of because of her arthritis in her hips, knees, and ankles, and of course her issues with incontinence. But she was good and had very respectful care. The person that we had, Sylvia, was just excellent. She would explain what she was doing before she was doing it, so my mom wouldn't be wondering why she was being moved in a certain way. Every time she took care of my mom was smiling and thanking her. We've had other services in my mom's experience, and not everyone is good, but Sylvia was top-notch.

They keep an eye on my mom and give her companionship. They are great at activities.

I would recommend that they have some sort of sheet that describes activities like cleaning the bathroom and vacuuming with more detail. They should give the caregivers a list so there isn't a question about what needs to be done.
Some caregivers are good, and others are not.

I don't have to be there in the morning to help her get up, get dressed, and eat breakfast. I'm there most afternoons.
The caregiver coming isn't consistent, it's someone different quite often. I know it's hard to get someone for only an hour.

None of us are there when the caregivers are there but in general we can tell that some of the caregivers are thinking that their main job is to do some light housework. My sisters have expressed that we want someone that is more compassionate about his circumstance and be willing to engage with him.
It is providing a service that we need. The communication about what is going on is good but some of the caregivers have been a little less than what we would have expected.

If they weren't sure, they should have called me to make sure.
We had problems with a nurse not showing up on time. When it was originally set up, I told them that we had to have seven days a week, 24/7, and I had coverage for 20 hours, so I needed them to do four hours a day. The first day that I needed them, they hadn't scheduled a nurse. It was just one thing after another. As it went on, their services got better.

What we asked for we got taken care of, and it was done very well.
The first thing is that I like how I could get any amount of hours that I wanted, there was no minimum amount. Their price range I thought was excellent, and dealing with everybody was great.

When we were having trouble with finding an aide, like when there was one aide left and we wanted a new person, they found the right fit, after a couple tries, for my mother.
They could just do more updates, like monthly or every other month.

I would not be able to do without her.
I have had several caregivers come, and there was one that I did not like, and they did not send her back, and I was grateful for that. She could not take directions and did not fit in. I have had some very good people. The one now is excellent. I like her very much, and she does a good job.

I had Right at Home Forest Hill after an operation and they were fine. They did some laundry and made me lunch. I had three different caregivers to provide me companionship more than anything because I didn't really need them, but my son insisted. The billing was easy.

We used Right at Home (BelAir) to care for our Mom for an entire year and we could not be more pleased and satisfied with the care giving staff, the office staff and office nurse. Most important was our care giver because our Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and needed care and guidance for just about everything. By having such a loyal care giver it gave us the peace of mind when we could not be there. The communication between us and the care giver was always up to date and this sure did help our situation with our Moms daily life. It is very hard to leave your loved ones needs in someone else's hands, but with the Right at Home staff we had no worries.

Right at Home is the second agency that I am using right now, and I am not happy with them. In the beginning they seemed to be all right, but they charged a lot. They are giving me a bad time with the amount. The girl who came to interview me said that I could have two or three hours for $18, but they are charging me $25 per hour. The first girl who came in didn’t do anything, but just sat for one hour and I had to pay for her, but right now I have a very nice girl who comes. She is pretty good, and she takes me to my doctor, and I am rating her a 5. Overall, I really don’t like their system because they overcharge me. I'm tired of them of trying them to charge me all of this money.
