At Visiting Angels in Massachusetts, our services are designed to help the elderly stay in their own homes, where they want to be, for as long as possible. Most senior citizens come to a crossroad in life where they are in good health and too independent to move into an assisted living facility or nursing home -- yet they still require help with errands, housekeeping, shopping, and other chores and activities. While many seniors have relatives in thier area to lend a helping hand, countless others live many miles from a friend or loved one. Even elders with local children may require home care and companionship while their familites are at work.

If they had access to a broader talent pool, it would make it possible to have complete coverage. I was not there during the times the caregivers were there so I am not sure what they did all day.
The people who run it are great, but there is a shortage of talent.

They do not come every day, they come twice a week. When they come it is a great impact because if they didn't, he would be isolated.

The fact they were able to come in and fill in for other caregivers with no issues. My grandmother was never able to be alone and they would do everything like could to ensure that someone was there for her at all times.
I have already recommended them. They listened to exactly the type of care that we needed and they were experienced enough to know what type of questions to ask to get us the right caregiver.

The prior people who came over knew when to take him to get a hair cut. They knew when to trim his nails. It doesn't have much impact, but that's my father's fault and not theirs.
The people they have now are very nice, but I don't think they're doing what the people they used to have did, in terms of the cleaning and physical care.

They have well-trained caregivers and a fairly consistent standard of care. Also, I've been very happy with our case manager because they're extremely helpful and calm.

I only have them one day a week for three hours. They do the shopping and unpack it, then go home. Sometimes she helps me with my husband. They could do more on their own. I hate to ask them to do things.
Everything is perfect. The ladies at the desk are very nice. The caregivers are a different story.
