We only have one person now from BrightStar that knows what he is doing, but he leave a lot of things undone. For example, my brother is bed-bound, so if anything spills, it stays on the floor. The aides that come the next day have to clean it up.

It makes a big impact because I can get out of the house once in a while and get a rest from the drudgery of day and night duties for him. I have had bad experiences, but mostly good ones. Most of the caregivers are very good.

What they could do is come assist with more of the plan for the health care. Sometimes they are unsure of what to actively do with my brother, or who they are working with. I have given ideas but constant reminders and making sure they are prepared would be helpful. We are using them for memory care and they don't seem to have a grasp on Alzheimer's or what is entailed with it.

I don't know how they could make things easier. I am very independent. I think they did what I asked them. They were not allowed to give my loved one their medications, and I did not care for that. I used them on a couple different occasions, and we liked the aides assigned. They did very well with my loved one.

It was a good relief knowing that I didn't have to be around. I couldn't have been there 24/7. As soon as she called and told them she needed somebody, they were there the same day.

I am less likely to recommend BrightStar Care because the caregiver has not been doing their work correctly. I had to complain because the caregiver was doing crafts and scarfs at the table and not helping my mother. This week the caregiver did do the homemaking tasks such as changing the bedding. Everything was done when I came home this week. The caregiver could make a more positive impact by changing the bedding, cleaning the bathroom, helping with the dishes, and making dinner when I am not here.
