Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

My mother-in-law had Alzheimer's Disease and my father-in-law was her primary caregiver. He fell and broke his hip and had some other major health problems occur almost simultaneously. Without hesitation, I called Home Instead of Westport to see if I could get 24/7 care for my mother-in-law. Home Instead immediately went into action and we got help that very night. I cannot begin to tell you the relief we felt as a family.
Because my mother-in-law had never been with anyone but my father-in-law, we were unsure how she would be, but she absolutely loved "her girls," as she called them. In fact, she thrived with Home Instead. I cannot thank them enough for treating my mother-in-law with love, kindness, dignity, patience, respect, and affection. It meant the world to us. Every caretaker was so engaged with her and knew what she like and disliked.
Having Home Instead relieved us of at least one burden. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. Every single individual within Home Instead is amazing and I highly recommend them for any at-home needs. They are simply the best!

This is a great service that offered us peace of mind knowing that someone was there helping Mom get through the day and night. It took some time to find the right group of caretakers provided by Home Instead, but they were willing to work with us to place people that understood Mom's needs. We had 24-hour care, 7 days a week. All caretakers were on time and rarely was there an issue -if so, it was handled immediately. Our main caretaker truly became "one of the family" and we are so thankful for that she found her way to our Mom's care.

Our family is so thankful for Home Instead and the services they have been providing my mother in law. They prepare all her meals and make sure all her medication is taken on time. It is a huge relief. The care givers are all so nice and provide excellent care. The administration is friendly and helpful.

Since my father got ill and then passed away two years ago we've relied on the wonderful caregivers at Home Instead. Not only did they help us through this very difficult time, they also helped my mom adjust to living independently after 60+ years of marriage. There has been a lot of uncertainty at different times, and everyone has always been very accommodating as we made changes in the schedule to meet our changing needs.
We truly could not have done this without the help of Home Instead. My mom also feels like the expert help she is getting, is like having a good friend come and check on you.

They really make you feel comfortable and in safe hands. Their workers are professional, kind and caring. They provide the piece of mind that you need when taking care of a loved one. They are flexible and accommodating to your needs. We love the app they provide to monitor schedule, people, and all kind of feed back. We feel at ease with the policies that are in place. The consistency and genuine caring from Lisa at Home Instead, has been phenomenal! I so look forward to our three mornings a week together and feel both respected and motivated by her visits. She has kept me socially, emotionally and physically engaged and supported with each visit and even prepares and plans ahead between days when she comes to my home. When I was informed that a condition of hospital discharge was 24x7 care I immediately called Home Instead. Erica and Samia performed a miracle and setup services for that same day and met us onsite within 2 hours! They were entirely flexible with schedule and personnel requests and each caregiver was on time, caring, trustworthy and totally present. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to keep their loved one at home.

Home Instead provided unique and exceptional staff coverage that understood my family's needs with the utmost level of caring and compassion when I needed their help the most. After realizing that my dad needed a constant caretaker in his life in order to allow him to be him and the freedom and flexibility that allowed him to flourish and thrive. Home Instead from the staff in the office (Erica Camara and her amazing staff) to the staff that provided amazing 24/7 care for my mother in law. There were ~ 10-11 caregivers a week that were required for her care. Each and everyone one of the caregivers became integral to her care and happiness. They became a part of our family support. Her care was complex with multiple medical issues and end of life care. The team was incredible and the agency responsive at every turn. They gave our family and my mother in law the piece of mind because of who the caregivers were as people. Not only were they helpful, they were all loving, compassionate, empathetic, honest women. There was a trust that allowed us to really be present during some very challenging months. We can not say enough about the New Bedford/Westport team.

It usually takes a few visits for the elder receiving care to adjust and feel comfortable, especially with bathing. The CNA's and office staff are terrific! I am totally satisfied with the service.

We are currently using 3 hr. a day and 7 days a week service.They arrive at 8:30 and leave at 11:30 each morning. Their primary job is to help get my wife out of bed, washed up and dressed. They do small house work items as well as the laundry. They help the OP and PT providers with their services also. They are great cheer leaders for my wife as she recovers from a long stay in rehab due to her inability to walk. They have become a part of the family. I can not say enough about them and their team leader Erica. She has been a wonderful help throughout this ordeal. I would highly recommend Erica and her team to anyone who would need their services.

Home instead has been just wonderful. Samia , our case manager, is the best. She is kind and caring. Maria, our caregiver is just wonderful. She has been our angel throughout my moms difficult illness. Both Samia and Maria have hearts of gold and i would not trust my moms care to anywhere else. Home instead has been a very positive experience for me and my dad. We are thankful and grateful to have them.

Home Instead was my first introduction to caregiving assistance for my husband. And they set a very high bar. Every person who was in our home was a professional in his or her caregiving role - capable, interactive, caring, outgoing, sense of humor to match my husband's, and always looking for additional ways to help not only him but also me. It was obvious the company had retained the right people, provided the right on-going training, set high standards and truly cared about us as a family, not only as a client. This crossed all levels of employees - I had a wonderful conversation with the owner when I initially reached out, the supervisor caringly stayed in touch, and the office staff were responsive to changing needs and pro-active when it was called for. I could not recommend them any higher than I do!

It has been a pleasure having Home Instead as a support system for my parents. The office staff is pleasant and easy to work with. They consistently met our changing needs to the best of their ability, often times, at a moments notice. The caregivers were friendly, patient, knowledgeable, compassionate and always willing to go above and beyond to assist my parents in a variety of ways. It was worth spending the money knowing my parents were getting quality caretakers in their home who could be trusted. The on-line family portal was extremely helpful. I checked it often to see who was scheduled to come into the home each week. It was especially helpful to listen to the caretaker’s summary of the day’s activities and updates on my father’s well-being. I also appreciated seeing when the bill was due and reviewing their account to make sure the bill was paid on time. I would definitely recommend Home Instead to anyone who is considering home care for their loved one.

Home Instead provides transportation four days a week to my 91-year old mother who recently stopped driving. They have been great from the first conversation we had with them. Erica Camara, Director of Client Care Services is caring, knowledgeble, and responsive to our needs and requests. My mother is happy with the women who provide transportation to her. While there are other less expensive transportation alternatives, the services provided aren't as complete. It is worth paying a bit more for Home Instead for the high-quality service, and most of all peace of mind.

The entire process of working with Home Instead has been fantastic from our first interaction with senior management to seeing the caregiver interact with our parents in such a joyful manner.
The manager we met with twice was incredibly insightful, accomadating and compassionate. She met with us twice, selected the perfect caregiver and got the care initatiated in 4 days!
The caregiver is flexible, kind, innovative, smart and joyful (a McGyver / Andy of Mayberry combination). She is always on time. She helps out with a wide variety of ADLs and health care needs very effectively. And, she has great communication skills. My parents love her!
The Home Instead office staff has also been great to work with. They are professional and flexible. And, they are always so pleasant!
The Home Instead team has significantly improved the quality of life for my parents.
We can't imagine working with anyone else!

Home Instead has been a wonderful resource for our family over the past year, providing 24/7 care to mom, who was unable to care for herself.
Staff always arrived on time, and interactions with the caregivers were great. They were warm and caring, even under difficult circumstances.
Home Instead management was quick to act on the extremely rare occasions that a caregiver wasn't the best fit. We would highly recommend this agency!!!

Home Instead provides home care two nights (4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m) a week for my Mom. I live in Florida, so I'm not interacting with the Caregiver. My Dad has been caring for Mom for 6 plus years. I suggested home service to my Dad to give him a break from the 24 hour care he provides. From what my Dad shares the Caregiver is on time. My Mom has dementia, so it has been challenging, but Mom seems to be more reseptive as time passes. Overall, my interaction with the Office Staff has been pleasant.

Home in stead has been a life saver in our case. My mother is 92 has dementia, is incontinent and has trouble getting around. Our in home aide has become part of the family. She is always on time and gets along well with my mother.
My mother is treated with respect and is engaged in conversations with our health aide.
We have gone from having help three days a week to five days.
My husband and I have recently began to have date night on Saturday evenings. We had not been out in months. We have someone come on Saturdays.
I feel like our lives are almost normal. Thanks to Home in Stead.

Wonderful team! I get companion services for my dad. The caregivers are incredibly caring and competent . My dad enjoys going for a ride and they take him to his favorite areas. The administrative staff is also great they make everything go so smoothly. They all make our life so much less stressful. Highly recommend .

Home Instead provided the most caring and compassionate care to my Mom. They tuned in to her, my dad and myself so quickly, the adjustment was seamless. Staff was always on time, or early. Their number one priority was always my Mom and what she needed, but my dad was never forgotten. There was always love and attention given his way too. I cannot tell you the comfort level this brought me knowing that they weren't strangers in my home, they were like extended family.
Anytime I had a question the agency was there immediately to answer it. Always calling back to check in with a follow up. I could not have done it without them! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

When mom needed overnight companion care at her assisted living facility I was shocked at the rates that a lot of these agencies charge. After trying to be a hero and do it myself for two week, I quickly burnt out and turned to Home Instead. The care was fantastic, they were very accommodating. It was as of the weight of the world was taken off of my shoulders. There are other agencies that may be cheaper with their hourly rates but the dedication of this agency was well worth the cost. I definitely recommend Home Instead!

My husband had a very fast onset of dementia. Because I wanted him to stay home and not in a Nursing Home, I focused on getting information from as many sources as possible. Our daughter interviewed three local providers and found Home Instead the best in responding to our needs and the fact that they are bonded. That together with a recommendation from a friend who's father was cared for by Home Instead prior to his death, made me to choose them
I use coverage for nights and certain other times during the day. In my case and depending on the hour, the caretakers wash, shave, dress, feed and diaper my husband. Amazingly they always arrive on time and I get along with them in a very comfortable way
The quality of the caretakers is very high. Most of them have long term experience with dementia patients. They bring a lot of kindness and understanding to the job. The company tries to keep the same persons in each time slot so that the patient feels more comfortable and assured. That is paramount with dementia patients. But even the occasional replacement is excellent.
I appreciate all caretakers and administrative staff for their understanding and working with me during this very difficult time.

My sister and I are very happy with the quality of care our mom is receiving from the Home Instead aides, and the quick response from management when we have questions or problems to address. Care is taken to ensure the best personality matches for mom, and I can see how mom is benefiting from social interaction with the aides. They also encourage mom to participate in activity programs and interact with fellow residents in her assisted living home.
The aides also do laundry, light housekeeping and let us know when household and personal care items are running low, and have suggestions for products that will make mom more comfortable. I love the on line log book and video clips so we can see how thing are going on a day to day basis.
I spent a few days visiting mom to see how things were working out which allowed me to see first hand how well the aides did their jobs, to understand how sister and I can help them help mom (asking aides what additional care products/equipment would be useful), and to tailor things for mom's particular situation. Also to see which aides mom interacted well with and which she didn't, so that changes could be made. Management resolved the few issues that arose very quickly.

We were very pleased with the assistance we received through Home Instead Senior Care-North Dartmouth, MA. We had tried a few home health agencies previously and were not satisfied with the service we received with the HHA’s. Every HHA we had through Home Instead Senior Care-North Dartmouth, MA was top notch – well trained, as well as caring and patient with my mom. Samia, Client Care Manager, was extremely helpful while we were registering for the services, and quick to respond to our last-minute scheduling changes as they occurred. We currently are not an active client of Home Instead Senior Care-North Dartmouth, MA, but they are the only agency we will work with when the need arises in the future.

I was delightfully surprised to learn that after each caregiver visit, the caregiver could leave me either an audio or text message on the Home Instead website page set up for my mother. The message could relay news about what they did together, and any observations I might need to know about. I think of the caregivers as my eyes and ears for when I can't be observing my mom myself, so it gave me peace of mind that if something was amiss that might need some attention, the caregiver could let me know and I could follow up.

We have been using Home Instead for almost one year now. My Dad has developed some very nice relationships with the caregivers and I feel a couple of them go above and beyond what they need to do. My brother & I can rest easy knowing they are going to see him each day and make sure he is ok.

Home Instead has been a joy to work with. They are providing care for my parents. I am in charge of scheduling and I leave 900 miles away. I have called last minute when a family member has had to cancel and they provide someone with no problems. My parents have been very happy with their caregivers.

Home Instead has been a lifesaver. At the beginning it was morning care at our parents home for 6 months. They were always dependable and caring. This was such a change for our parents. They were reluctant to have strangers in there home. Everyone had a way of comforting them and helping them except the help .Home Instead has a way of matching the right staff with the clients. Our parents decided to move to assisted living because there home was getting older and needed repairs. Home Instead continued hours with them for extra help. (Showers, etc.) We have also hired Home Instead for my husbands parents who plan on remaining in there home but need 24 hr, care. Again the staff is so helpful, caring, and has allowed them to remain in there home with safety. Safety has been such a concern as our parents have aged. This company has well trained staff in all areas of health care. We are 2 very large families and all agree that Home Instead is the company to hire.

When my mother required 24-hour personal care, I had so many concerns and uncertainties. We knew our lives were all going to change. One thing I did not anticipate was how much we would come to care for the care providers -- they are like members of our family now. All staff is very friendly and accommodating. I often schedule last minute and they have always found a caregiver for me. The caregivers , and because of the schedule I need them, are varied and always been very good and pleasant. They often do more than requested.. I recommend this agency to everyone.

Home Instead, located in Dartmouth MA, is an excellent service that provides in-home care for my father.
He is 94, lives alone and is very independent.
The Care Providers from Home Instead allow him to remain independent while helping with daily chores.
They are very flexible and work out a schedule that meets your needs as well as responding promptly when needed at the last minute.
They truly care and do a wonderful job.
