Each Caregiver takes a Care Profile Test to ensure they are a good fit for this industry. It also helps to match Clients and Caregivers
Each Caregiver has a nationwide back ground check for every county they ever lived in the.
Each Caregiver takes a 10 panel drug screen which includes street and prescription drugs.
We use Homecare Pulse as a third party source to validate quality of services for each client.
Continuous training is provided via The Institute for Professional Care Education.

They provide me with great company.
When we sat down I was told it was not going to be as expensive as I thought. They did not tell me about all the things that I would be paying for. The payment per month is never the same.

I always count on the caregivers on being here at my house and they are always here as well as willing to stay longer if needs be.
One thing that I like about this agency is that I have two wonderful caregivers who are dedicated and the company has all worked closely with me to make sure that I have coverage for my grandmother.

If they weren't here I don't know what I would do! I have never had any issues with the caregivers that have been coming.
I would recommend them for sure. I know that we have had some problems with aides quitting and stuff, but they have always found someone to fill in and whatnot. I understand that that happens.

The person that comes out has been outstanding, she is good with older people and does a little extra on her own.

It's really on my mom more than Home Helpers, she refuses a lot of the help they offer. I think they have helped the most in giving companionship.
I like the caregiver that came, she was good with my mom.

With the condition that I have some days my energy level is quite low. Them coming in and doing what they do kind of saves me.

I only have them for a few hours each day so I am able to run some errands.
I have had so many different caregivers. Some are much better than others. My loved one is 99 years old. There is not a whole lot of care for them to do. It is more like babysitting.

They have helped the most by giving me other options where I was able to find better help for my mom. They told me about extra care that I did not know about.
It is really not them or their fault. It is just a revolving door. It is hard to find consistency with the same caregiver.

I could really use additional time with them because I need to get out more. It's getting harder and harder to be giving him the quality of care, and I'm his primary caregiver.
It's been a learning curve for me. It started out slower, and I probably had higher expectations that I should have, but we've worked through everything and it's going well now.

I sometimes have trouble walking, and she will run the vacuum, mop the floors, or do things that I can't do for myself. She does a good job, and I appreciate that.

Instead of being told what to do all the time, they should just come in and start cleaning, and not having to be told what to do, perse. Just go in and do it.
They could have stronger help. There is only one person who can help me in the shower, and bathroom.

The skill level of the caregivers is uneven. We have different ones at different times. The office needs to know their caregivers' skill levels and education ahead of time. I wouldn't enthusiastically recommend them. Home Helpers provides a service that is needed. I'm able to do important errands, like at the doctor's office, and go shopping and also work a little bit.

I would tell a friend that my caregiver has been great in helping with light housekeeping. Although, I have had some issues with the meal services through Home Helpers. Mom's Meals delivered a couple times last week and left an order out in the sun on Friday. I called and spoke with someone at Home Helpers and they told me to throw it away. The services seem to make my life easier and I can't think of anything Home Helpers could do to improve that.

Home Helpers is pretty good. I would recommend them, and the aides are excellent. Home Helpers took over the previous franchise three years ago, but it took them two years to actually meet me. There are no problems, but it would nice if the caregivers could feed my wife and help her with the breathing exercises. They do wash her, dress her, and make sure she has anything else that she needs. The caregivers could do a few more things for my wife that I have to do and take that off my shoulders.

Home Helpers were local and they went through our local chamber of commerce so I felt comfortable with them. A head person came and met with me and my mom first. They talked over everything, and then the second time when she came, she brought a caregiver with her and spent about an hour with my mom and they started from there. The caregivers are fine. They drive her to and from the local stores or pharmacy. They help her do laundry, housework, make her bed, and take her to doctor’s appointments. The only problem I have is that they called us a few times where they didn’t have anybody to come out because somebody was sick and since she started, they’ve had 3 different people come which I’m not too crazy about.
