About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

I love Home Instead this company has been a absolute blessing to me always checking up on me making sure I have everything I need. I have had the same caregiver of my chose for 3 years and Hakelah my caregiver is amazing always on time we never have a dull moment. For those looking for actual help with care please give Home Instead a chance they truly care and go above and beyond

The caregiver Yarlean has been very professional patient and jumps right in when needed. She never hesitate to assist with anything I feel confident with her skills and when in public she will read items to me and remind me what is actually needed. The Director of Client Services Jackie has also been a great help with transition of home acciquired care maintaining safety and dignity the entire time. Thus far I am pleased with the services provided

Home Instead has provided incredible and highly professional care! Marquita is the caregiver who regularly provides my mother with kind and meticulous care. She is alert to her needs and provides her with company. She is always on time and respectful and looks for opportunities to help out when not asked. Home Instead does a great job with follow up calls and checks in regularly to provide additional respite care, which is so greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Home Instead and their team of caregivers!

My caregiver is wonderful and I love the home cooking meals she prepares for me. I've been with Home Instead for years now. They make sure I'm getting my meals in. They're very professional, very clean and neat. My caregiver keeps me very comfortable. They're very professional about their job and caring. She's very good with that. Great with it.

I am continuously impressed with the professionalism and kindness of our caregiver, Mary. It's been about 4 or 5 months now. Billing is fine, no problems there. The services has been excellent and we're happy. They've been helpful with everything we ask for.

The office staff is always so polite and helpful. They offer to assist me well beyond what I ask for. They really seem to care about me and that means a lot. They even call me to check in frequently just to make sure I am ok when they aren't here.

We have a male caregiver who comes in the mornings and helps my husband get up and ready for the day. He also tidies the house for me. Home Instead even gives me respite hours every month which is so much appreciated. I can get out of the house and do things without worrying about my husband.
