About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

Home Instead on the eastside of Indianapolis has been providing home health aide services for my elder mother and father for a few months now and we are very pleased. Their caregiver, Robin, has earned a special place in my parents' hearts, has adapted well to changing circumstances, and even provides good ideas and insight that help my wife and I in better caring for my parents.

I've had Home Instead for about three months now. Everything I need, they anticipate it. My aide is real good about suggesting things that I should do and people I should contact. She provides help in my apartment. I live in a one-bedroom apartment, and she does cleaning. She would help me if I needed her for a shower and things like that. She does my laundry. She's my housekeeper. She comes five days a week about four hours a day. Sometimes, she doesn't have anything to do, but she keeps me company. She makes phone calls for me because I got a new phone and sometimes I don't know how to get it to work. She's good at everything. She's scheduled to be at my place between 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning because I go to therapy, and she always tries to get here before I leave. They haven't let me down any time.

I've been with Home Instead for about three years now. The folks are very good and very polite and very much manage your time. I use them six days a week. They do cleaning of the house, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, doing dishes, doing laundry, assist me with showers, and they go walking with me every day. Scheduling is very good. I get them every morning from 8:00 to 4:00, on Saturday from 10:00 to 2:00, and on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00.

I am a new client of homestead and new to caregiving services. By this being a new experience for me I did not know what to expect. To my surprise the services I am receiving from Ms. Morris has gone beyond my expectations. She is very professional, always on and minutes before time. She is very knowledgeable of the services she provides daily for me. Sometimes I don't realize what I need before she does. She is extremely patient and very understanding. She gets me going in the right direction for my care. I am blessed to have her as my caregiver. Thank you phyllis and Thank you Homeinstead.

I have a caregiver come out 3x's a week to help with errands, light housekeeping
Getting me to and from DR appointments
Helps me with laundry and companionship.
My caregiver is always on time. If something comes up where she would run late the office always notifies me ASAP. This has only happened once.
I love my caregiver! She's the best! She has become family.
This agency is over and above the best I've ever had when it comes to nay needs or changes that might come up. Unlike other agency that are hard to reach.
I know I can pick up the phone talk to anyone in the East side office and they are more than willing to help. They are also very kind in times when I'm stressing.

My husband's caregiver comes in and gets done everything she needs to. She is great. She gives him his shower, his meal, and cleans everything up. She helps him get around because he is 95 now and it's not as easy as it use to be.

My brother has always been very nervous. Some may call him socially awkward. This is due to some underlying conditions, but since Cornelius have come into the home, he feels very comfortable going out, as long as he is with him. This has been a major game changer.
