My mother lived in a western suburb and I live about 26 miles south. When I knew she needed a caregiver, I happen to pick up a literature at a little local restaurant that we call Honeyfield. I called the number on there and then the gentleman said that he could give me the name of their home health branch up here in the Dupage area.
I found Liz to be extremely accommodating. She tried to get my mom help as soon as possible. She tried to get the appropriate help that she needed. She was concerned about me and my feelings for those coming into my mother's home. She was concerned about my mother's reaction. She tried to find a good fit not only for my mother but for me also.
One time my mom's back door lock was not opening right and she brought in personnel to fix it. She was concerned about her caregiver's security. She was also concerned about my mom. She's really very concerned about her clients and the people that work for her.
As for the caregivers, I appreciated them when they step forward like offer me input and suggestions for me to try. I wasn't aware of not being in the field nor ever having a caregiver for a parent before. They have knowledge of many things that I don't. I appreciated their knowledge in the field and how they presented the options to me. They were very attentive and caring with my mom.
I would highly recommend Liz and her company.

It was my daughter who did the checking for me and eventually hired Home Helpers. They have come very well recommended. The caregivers they provided are very descent in performing their job. I am still doing very well. I just need little assistance around the apartment like light housekeeping and preparing meals. I have been with them for 6 months. I am completely happy with their service. I have no complaints or whatsoever.

My brother was using an in-home care provider and he was very satisfied with the person that he had. So I would rather start with somebody who has had and was happy with, rather than taking a chance on just picking an agency. I contacted the service that he used. When I called them they said they couldn't help me because I'm not within their area.
They then referred me and gave Home Helpers & Direct Link's number. I only have one caregiver with them. She's very satisfactory and she's helping in ways that I want and need. She does a variety of things that I need help with. She's able to drive and take me to doctor's appointment and take me shopping. She does help me quite a bit with laundry because I can't go down to the basement anymore. She helps me change my bed and put new clean beddings.
Moving around is easier for her than for me, so I'm really glad having her to help me. I am very happy with their service. Liz herself is very conscientious. She's very interested on how they're performing. She does contact me from time to time to see that if I'm satisfied on how things are going.
