We have been making it possible for the elderly to maintain a safe and healthy lifestyle, while living independently at home, by providing them with appropriate, affordable in-home care and companionship. Since 2002, we have been serving Western Cook and DuPage counties in the Chicagoland area, offering assistance and solutions for the elderly and their families.
We are licensed by the State of Illinois Department of Public Health.

They help my loved one out with bathing, dressing, a bit with his meals, and mainly with exercise for his physical therapy.

They always look ahead at the schedules and call me to alert me of any changes and holidays. They're proactive. The caregivers take on responsibilities that let me manage things from a higher level.

Well, if they had more training for particular ailments. My mom has dementia. That's not something that every caregiver is trained on. I don't know the extent of the training. They all have the basics down. But, if you were going to have more training, that would work. That would be the only thing the agency should improve.
I like that overall, in all facets, the agency is doing a good job. One thing I liked was Joan's initial assessment. We've had good luck with a lot of the caregivers.

She doesn't make it easy on them, but they're attentive.
I like that they are attentive to my mother's needs. She's become very difficult to deal with, even for me, and I think the caregivers are better at taking care of her than I am.

They sent us a wonderful caregiver. They've helped us the most is that they've been able to put together services from a caregiver that we need and what the caregiver can provide. They can see what caregiver is best for us.
I like that they are always available when you call and when something happens to your current caregivers, they will find someone to take her place in the short term.

We are all out of state, so without eyes and ears there we would worry a lot more.

They could be more helpful by keeping the caregivers equal on the quality levels. Some could be more engaging with actives.

I am wheelchair bound and cannot walk on my left foot. I am sleeping in our den instead of going upstairs. She helps me when I need help. I am good as long as I'm sitting down.

This time, I broke my ankle, so having them in helping me and my husband around the house has been great. We needed someone that we could rely on during this time.
They are in Hinsdale, so it is close to us, and they supply someone terrific. They have been helpful. They have helped us understand the whole program.

They provide services that I need. I have two different people that come and they both are willing to do what needs to be done and what I ask them to do.
The care takers that come are always very prompt or even a bit early. I'm never concerned that someone has forgotten about their shift.

Some of them are fabulous. Some of them, like fill-ins, are not good. One lady sat around and didn't help so I had to do the laundry.

Our caregiver helps in a myriad of ways. I can't say all the stuff. She is pleasant and upbeat, he looks forward to her coming. They chortle, she makes meals and does diaper changes. She does it beautifully since it's an embarrassing thing to need help with. She has just been a gem. Our transitional caregiver was excellent at helping him get used to the new things at home.
I already have. They have sponsored a few things at the community house.

We find the services helpful, but we do find it as an intrusion, since we aren't used to having people here for 12 plus hours. It would be interesting if whoever is there at the agency could come by to see how the caregiver is doing.
The problem we have is that some of our caregivers are better than others.

The caregiver could lift him from his chair to the transport chair to go to the bathroom. She was very strong.
They're very reliable. The girl that we have is outstanding and even came on weekends when they couldn't get anybody.

Stay Away from this agency! Independence 4 Seniors hires unqualified and untrained caregivers. They show up at all different hours. They are not attentive to the client. They are on their phones or doing their own thing.
The owner is rude and has an heir about her and speaks to you in a condescending manner. Like your business doesn't matter. The agency charges high fees but does not put the money into training the caregivers. Some caregivers have no knowledge of caring for patients with memory issues or fall risk. It is a gamble to put your loved one in their care. The communication is poor between you and the agency. And Between the agency and the caregivers. It is a sad situation when you have to find care for a loved one and can't find quality care. It is hard to find good care for a loved one. Needed to write this review so you don't get stuck with a bad agency. Stay away from Independence 4 Seniors if you value your loved ones care.

It is important because the quality of the person impacts the quality of the life. If things aren't going well with my mother, then things aren't well with me.
They consistently send quality caregivers. We had a visit from the owner to my mom's hospital room. All of these are positive indicators to me.

I don't have to worry about my sister for those few hours each day or each week.
I can just judge by the person they sent to be with my sister each week that they're great. The lady they send is very nice, pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful.

They could have higher quality caregivers.
They could improve the customer care because questions or issues we had, were met with negative attitudes. One caregiver was condescending toward my loved one, and the agency seemed annoyed that we wanted to change.

Her caretaker has allowed me to sleep through the night. I am 100% confident that if anything were to happen, I would get a phone call.

The individual can be more suggestive and be opposed to open-ended questions so that way my loved one doesn't have an opportunity to say no.

I would say that the caregiver that I have right now is outstanding, but some of the substitutes are less so. I am able to worry a little less because of Independence-4-Seniors Home Care. The caregiver is really good.

I would tell someone about Independence-4-Seniors Home Care because I think they are really good, except for the first caregiver, which seemed a lot better than she ended up being. Independence-4-Seniors Home Care has made life easier because I know there is someone there with my loved one, and I do n't have to worry about her as much. She is happier with having a live-in caregiver.

I would tell someone that the caregivers seem to be well-trained and know the procedures. The owner puts them through an awesome training. It's obvious that the caregivers speak and act like the owner. My aunt has never had services like this before. For years, she has lived alone. Now that we are getting her weaned off of medication, she is much more cooperative and happy.

At the beginning, I had one caregiver but she felt the care was too much for her. I think when Independence-4-Seniors Home Care brings caregivers on a case they should explain more what the work will entail so they can meet that demand. Independence-4-Seniors Home Care has helped with my stress level and being able to do things I have to do without being worried about the client's care.

We've had the same caregiver for five years and we have been very pleased. When our regular caregiver took time off, Independence-4-Seniors assigned two really good caregivers to take his place during that time. The office staff is delightful when I call them, even though that's not often since I've been so pleased. If it weren't for Independence-4-Seniors, I could not take care of my husband by myself. The impact has been wonderful.
