They help us get our shoes on and help me get up with the gate belt. They forget to give the new caregivers the garage door number sometimes. When they don't do that, they come pound on the front door, and we cannot get to the front door.

What I like about my caregiver, is that she is always there, she is caring, we enjoy the time with each other, and my life is more pleasant. I like the caregivers and the communication I have with the agency.

After my father had a stroke in December of 2019, we needed to get help in the home to assist him with many of his self care activities. We started with a different agency and we not at all pleased. We frequently received calls to inform us that there was no caregiver to cover a scheduled shift and we had little consistency with caregivers. We never had a shift that wasn’t covered and we were assigned two primary caregivers… Bernadine and Maria. Both were phenomenal with my father and they became family to us over the little more than a year that we had them until he passed. They communicated with me consistently and took such wonderful care of him. Whenever they needed to be off or were Ill, Meredith, in the office was always quick to get coverage. I cared for him part of the week and the caregivers were there when I wasn’t. When I needed extra coverage… Meredith always got us the coverage we needed. She was also so kind to my father and my family!! Even the subs that we occasionally had were fantastic. I always felt that my father was in good hands!! Even something as simple as having another person around to keep your loved one company when there’s nothing that needs to be done can have an enormous impact on them as well as the family. To have someone come in to fill that role in such a critical time is so very important. It was help we didn’t realize we needed until we had it. For that, we will be eternally grateful to have had Mary assigned to us through those times to help us where we didn’t have the energy. The wave of positive energy she came into our home with was incredibly uplifting. Michael, the owner, came to speak with our family to ease our minds. He spoke to our needs as a family. I needed to hire full time round the clock caregivers for my mom who was moving into a nursing home because she had dementia and the nursing home required it before they would admit her. Michael and his team were able to establish providers within hours of my calling. My mom was moved back to assisted living days later and put on hospice. His team worked with hospice to ensure my mom had round the clock care. One of his caregivers worked on her day off just because she became so fond of my mom. She attended my mom's funeral Mass and even brought me flowers. Not only did I get the care my mom needed, I made a new friend for life! The two caregivers, within one week, had won over the heart of my mother. No longer was she “concerned” that control of her house had been taken away. She like the foods which were cooked, playing word games and being able to work in her yard. The caregivers “listened” to her and talked "with" her. The communication which is present: between the caregivers , with me, the primary family member and with my mother is refreshing. There is a TEAM working to support my mothers, which will help keep her in her home. It has been two months and Home Helpers have met or exceeded my expectations of support and care.
