We got home care right now from Iowa Home Care for my mother. They provide a home health care aide for an hour or two per day. We got occupational, physical, and speech therapy. They’re very good. We like them very much. My brother knew someone that was affiliated with them, and it seemed to be a good fit. They’re very professional, prompt, and very kind. They take very good care of my mom. They’re very dependable.

Iowa Home Care was very neglectful in the care they provided to my mother. The nurse did not show up consistently, and did not communicate with myself or my Mom regarding planned absences. She also repeatedly filled her meds incorrectly and called in prescriptions for incorrect meds. I escalated my concerns several times to managers over both the nurses and the administration and ultimately advised I did not want that nurse to treat my mother anymore. I was promised she would receive a new nurse, only to have the old nurse continue treating her. After the new nurse failed to show up as promised, I terminated our contract with Iowa Home Care, but they continued to attempt to provide treatment due to an overall lack of communication between the skilled nursing, home health aide, and therapy department. Had I not been extremely diligent regarding my mom's health, Iowa Home Care's unprofessional and inept care could have caused a serious medical emergency. Please DO NOT trust this company with your loved one, and if you have to for some reason, please make sure you stay heavily involved to ensure they are not making the same mistakes they did when caring for my family member.

This agency one of the best in Des Moines, and Marshalltown, IA. I have been with them for six yrs. No matter what I needed, from a nurse to a health aide, or in home physical therapy . I just call tell them what I need , and I have someone. Their staff is very professional, and helpful. I recently moved to a town outside of Des Moines, and they made sure that I had a nurse stop in to see me that week to make sure I was okay, and had everything I needed.
