The Care Coordinator, Julie, met with me and my mom. It was a very informative meeting and we were not pressured. They do not send a salesperson out to you. I don't think they have salespersons. She was there to see if they could help and to provide resources to us to assist in paying for the services. She asked questions to learn what my mom really needed. My mom was very resistant to having caregivers come into her home. She didn't went to lose her independence or have caregivers telling her how to do things or changing the way she has done things for years. Julie provided reassurance that my mother would not have to worry since home instead funds out her needs, preferences and wants and base the care plan on that information. Julie was able to help my mom understand that I needed help with her and that getting that help would let me have time with my mom that would be quality time. Unfortunately, that evening my mother had a stroke. She has been transferred to a high needs care skilled nursing place for right now. I waited too long to get the help I needed. I pray that my mother will recover well enough to return to her own home where we can use home instead to help us keep her at home and know that she is safe and that we will be able to have quality time with her because of home instead. They provide help with housekeeping, showering, incontinence, grocery shopping, meal planning, transported to appointments, taking the clients on a drive or out to eat or to visit a friend and other places, making meals, they even will make meals for my mom to heat up on days or times that I do not have a caregiver scheduled to be with my mom. There is a lot more that they do. Call Julie at the Moline Home Instead office and she will visit you and explain it to you like she did for us.

My wife and I needed help with my mother, because she became more and more difficult to care for. I looked into assisted living and a nursing home. Assisted living wasn't enough care or attention given to her, and nursing homes were very expensive. Also, ideally, I wanted to keep her home as long as possible. Found out about Home Instead. They came over to our house and explained everything. I had them come over to our house twice a week, but they can come more often. My mom screamed at them most of the time when she was getting cleaned just like she did for us, but my mom thanked them when the cleaning was finished. The caregivers were always patient and loving towards my mom. I had them changed days a couple of times which wasn't a problem. They came on time and were helpful making suggestions to us. I would highly recommend them.

They have always provided helpful friendly caregivers to take care of my wife. They're always on time and make a record of all the activities they do so it can be checked by me and by the managers at home instead. I would recommend them very highly for anyone who needs help in caring for a loved one. They provide companionship for my wife , meals for her and myself, bathing assistance for her, and light house cleaning tasks. With out their help, I could not have survived the last four years.

I use Home Instead's "Concierge" service in my Active Retirement Community - it works a little differently (cost-wise) than their night-time in-home aides, for example. But the ladies who help me here at the Concierge Service are FANTASTIC! They are professional, considerate, compassionate, skillful and I could NOT get by without the services they provide for me!

My mother is most comfortable living in her own home, but is needs help with hygiene concerns, safety, daily medicine administration, laundry, meal preparations, and reminders about her schedule. The Home Instead staff addresses all of these needs. My mother is very receptive to the home healthcare staff.
