We're using Senior Helpers for three weeks now. They have a minimum of 12 hours a week that you have to schedule and then if you want more, you pay by the hour. It's more for me so that I am free to leave the house and go to my appointments. On Thursday the caregiver was here, and I went and got my taxes figured, and went out to lunch. There's not much care my husband needs, other than to feed him and just make sure he doesn't fall out of the bed or try to get up. But it is just nice knowing that someone is here and he's safe, and I can go and have some free time, so I don't go crazy.
They do housekeeping if you ask them to. Like there is one girl and she cleans my bathroom nice. One time I had a sink full of dishes and I asked them to do that, and they did so. They would do cleaning, but I don't think they come in and automatically clean. The caregiver is very nice. She's younger than me; I'm in my 60s. She shows up on time, sits with my husband, and feeds him. I have no complaints. You just give them your debit card when you sign up and then they automatically bill you. You pay two weeks in advance. They require you to give a two weeks notice if you're going to discontinue, so they collect for those two weeks. I think it's $26 an hour, times the 12-hour minimum. So you can either do four hours, three days a week, or you can do three hours, four days a week. I'm doing it three days a week, four hours each time.
You've been warned.
Terrible service! You cannot trust these people, they will make promises, but not keep them, they will schedule appointments to take care of your loved ones, but will not keep them, they will however take your money and not return it. As of now, it cost me over $500 dollars for one home health aid to spend three hours, (that's right, just 3 hours) with my 88 year old mother. Don't trust this company.

Run from these people. Their bookeeping is terrible and their communication with the family is non existant. They were hired as escorts - every Monday for shopping and then outings or doctor appointments in between. She stopped going shopping on Mondays in late September 2019. They never notified me of the change in her. They just kept going & charging for nothing. I stopped the service on 1/13/2020 but they kept going out. They refuse my calls, won't answer my emails or letters. They have billed me for hours that weren't even hers. Their booking is unprofessional and their interaction with the family is non existent. Go to another senior service and save yourself a lot of frustration.

The front office is clueless, I have gone several times without a caregiver due their scheduling problems. Incomplete information given to the home health aides, they were not prepared for the assistance I needed. I needed a home health aide not a companion! This company does bare minimum, if your in wheelchair, don't worry they won't tell your home health aide, that's not important to them, your marital status is. Buyer beware!

Senior Helpers has been wonderful. The caregivers who help us are very kind and on time, they help me so much. My husband and I can stay home together with their help. Jennifer is kind and helpful and always calls me back if I have a question about my bills. I would recommend them to anyone.

Senior helpers sends help three times a week for three hours a day for my husband. The girl is the sweetest thing and she does anything that I need whether it's for my husband or me so she helps us both. I've had several girls before he ended up in the hospital and I liked them all. They've been very helpful and very knowledgeable. I think we're happier doing this than anything else we've done.
