About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

We initially called Home Instead for Home Care services. But we were facing a rapidly changing health situation. Surprisingly, as the situation changed, Kay continued to be a valuable resource walking us through an entire array of options and services. What's so amazing is that none of this ended up letting us use Home Instead. What else can you say about a company that goes that far for you? Her advice led us to the perfect solution to our specific needs. We truly can't say enough!

This company 's staff have been very helpful, professional and easy to work with. My caregiver, Nancy, is prompt, dedicated and extremely helpful. Gets me to Dr. appointments on time, and is a careful and safe driver. Excellent in helping with household chores, meal preparation, and a friendly companion. Working with Nancy has been a blessing.

Home Instead worked with my father for over a year. We started with weekly visits for a few hours and gradually advanced to 24/7 care as the need warranted. We had round the clock care for 7 months. My Dad had bonds and trust with his caregivers. They cared for him with kindness, love and dignity and were with him until the end. I could not have asked for more.

Home Instead Spring Hill, FL has been essential in providing assisted care for our mother. This company's service has allowed our mother to return to her home and have semi-independence. Her caretaker provides transportation, guidance and socialization. Great communication and staffing, giving family and clients peace of mind.

The caregivers were always on time and provided excellent care to my husband. They wrote daily activities in his journal so that I could have a good understanding of how his days went. His bedding was always clean and bed made. When he was agreeable to a shower they did so. His bathroom was always immaculate, and they did general housekeeping as well. After much frustration and navigation into an unknown medical world when my mother fell and had dementia problems, this company eased my mind. Every step of the way from the person who answered the phone, the person who came out for the consult, and the aide that stayed with my mom for two weeks, I could not have been more pleased and at ease. They were a lifesaver! Highly recommend them.

The Home Instead management and staff are professional, compassionate, and caring.
After only a few minutes with Maureen and Tricia visitng our home and discussing our mom's needs, we felt like we were friends, rather than business owners and clients.
The staff was able to accomodate mom's ever changing needs at a momemts notice.
They always arrived on time, and were responsive to our requests.
I hope I'm never personally in need of such a service, but if so, Home Instead would be my first cosideration.

My initial contact got off to a slow start. My message was not returned in a timely manner. I had to call a second time to request an interview. Once established, the care and caregivers were very professional and attentive to my mothers needs. I have made an appointment for additional care in MI when we return.

Home Instead is always there when I need them. My caregiver, Dannie, is extremely watchful of my movements. She makes sure I do not bang my arm when getting in or out of the car. She takes me shopping and does errands.

Home Instead in Spring Hill has wonderful staff who care for my wards (I am a profession guardian) by providing different levels of care for different patients. The wards all speak favorably of the caregivers.
I am able to schedule a month in advance and never worry about the scheduling thereafter. Maureen, the nurse/owner, and her staff, are always there for me when I need quick changes or addition of new wards. The caregivers are very accommodating and knowledgeable.
I highly recommend Home Instead in Hernando County Florida.

the staff is very accommodating and our caretaker, Linda D is kind, caring and extremely competent. She has been able to handle all situations for us over the past few years as my mother has declined in mental state (alzheimers). Additionally she adjusted her schedule willingly and with no hesitation when my partner became ill and needed to go to the hospital, hospice and ultimately he passed on late in 2016. Besides being exceptional care for my mother, she has been of great comfort to me as I work through my grief and adjust to life after the death of my life's companion. We could not ask for a better care taker. She feels like a critical, wonderful part of our family.

The care givers at Home Instead are remarkable women, They are intelligent, articulate, talented cooks and meal planners, compassionate, considerate, funny and just plain ol' wonderful caregivers. These lovely ladies make my 87 yr, old Alzheimer inflicted Dad, happier every day. He loves having the ladies in his home to fill his day with home cooked meals, conversation, trips to the grocery store, or barber, or maybe a nice slow walk around the neighborhood. In short, Dad would rather have his care givers with him, then some of his own family!!!
When we needed in home care, I didn't know where to turn. I contacted Home Instead around 6 pm on a Sunday night, and was meeting with them Monday afternoon. In one week, they had our staffing needs filled; 7 days, 12 hours. No small feat, with one week to do.
Home Instead is professionally managed, and the customer service is totally customer oriented. I rate the entire team 5 Stars!
