I live out of state and Was looking for someone to help my mother with daily tasks. I talked with the owner who seemed very nice and asked her to go talk with Mom to see what assistance she needed and the hours that would be required. They agreed to 4 hours a days 7 days a week and everything seemed to be going fine. About 2 weeks in Moms health started declining further and she entered the hospital for 5 days but her home care worker claimed that she continued to work for my mother. She said my mom had her running errands and cleaning her home. My mother would never allow a stranger to be in her home without her being present! Plus Mom had real nurses at the hospital taking care of her personal needs so the home caregiver basically charged mom for visiting her at the hospital. Mom came home for about 2 days and we decided to have 24 hour care for when she first got out just to make sure she was doing okay. The night caretaker helped my mom to the bathroom then went into her bathroom, took a shower and went to bed. She never bothered to check on my Mom again. My mother was banging on her shower doors trying to wake the girl up to assist her off the toilet. Mom went back into the hospital the next day and never got out. The day time caregiver is claiming she cleaned moms place and ran errands again the second week Mom was in hospital. While Mom was in the hospital the second time a good friend took her jewelry box in to see if anything might have been missing and some rings and my deceased brothers crucifix was gone. I would not use this agency unless you really don’t care about your loved one. In my opinion they will charge you for phantom work hours with no real way of proving anything. If you do hire someone from this place put security cameras in your home and make them accountable everyday for hours the claim to work. Your best bet is avoid Patchwork.

I got Patchwork Quilt Companions for my husband about a month ago. The first caregiver was very good, but the other two were not, so we got the first one back. They provide help in bathing, transfers, fixing his lunch, making the bed, foot care, and doing some laundry. They've been OK.

We started using Patchwork Quilt Companions for my father since March or April of last year. He needed someone with him because he tends to fall and he has no memory at all. They would pick him up and take him usually to places. They would stay with him and then bring him back home. They would stay with him at home or take him to a movie, out to lunch or dinner. They come early in the morning to fix his breakfast if we're not home. Overall, my father and I are very happy with the care he's getting.
