About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

My elderly parents have been receiving home care from the team at Home Instead Port St. Lucie for two winters now. Every aspect of their care has been exemplary! There is no more anxious feeling than when someone you love needs help at home and you can’t provide it yourself. Amie is our administrative contact, and stepped in on day one, clearly explaining the services that Home Instead could provide. She has been available to us for all our questions and concerns, has coordinated their care, and has always been at the ready. Gabby has handled the billing, keeping in touch with their insurance company, optimizing their benefits, and importantly making the financial aspects transparent and understandable to me and my parents. But the face of Home Instead for my parents is Annette, who is their feet-on-the-ground caretaker. She does it all, from shopping and cooking (and she is a good cook), to driving (she is a good driver), to stand-by assisting with showering and other risky activities. She spends hours three times a week with my parents and gets along with them!
As a doctor, I know how fortunate my parents are to have a team that is professional, competent, and downright personable. We appreciate that these women have chosen to work in the homecare field, and we are lucky to have them working with us to keep my parents safe and independent. Thank you all!

Amie, Annette, & Marlene were fabulous. Although the time was short they performed to they’re utmost. When my mother arrived home they were promptly ready and caring for virtually as soon as they got through the door. Previously my mother had been in five different facilities and never had she received as good of care as she did from these ladies. What was more amazing is their empathy towards after loosing my father less than a year prior it was just indescribable the comfort they provided me. Thank isn’t enough but that’s the best I can do!

I am a visitor to the home of a recipient of the services of HomeInstead. Roshawn is one of my friend's caregivers. Roshawn is extraordinary. She is always smiling and incredibly caring. She is always ready for and anticipates the patients needs.

I had an emergency situation on a Saturday night related to my parents in July 2022. My mother had just had knee replacement surgery, with my father helping her our. Unfortunately, my father was rushed to emergency abdominal surgery, which kept him away from home for almost two months. Home Instead came through in an emergency and they provided wonderful care for both my parents, particularly when my father came home from the hospital. We had 24/7 coverage for many weeks and the communication and staffing experience was great. Thanks Home Instead!

Staff always arrives on time.
Interactions with the caregiver are phenomenal.
The agency takes care of everything in a very responsible manner. As soon as they hear of it, it is taking care of without delay. I have never had a problem with them. NEVER!
They take care of my every need.
When my aide arrives in the morning she make sure I have taken all my medications, makes my breakfast, takes my temperature, and blood pressure, walks my dog, Spirit, stands by the bathroom door while I shower to make sure I do not fall and helps me to dress afterwards.
She walks with me everywhere as I use my walker around the house. I wear a back brace to help me stand straight. C3&4 are fused, and I have multiple problems with my spine the brace helps me not look like an old man. I am 77 after all. Beth loves to mess up the kitchen by cooking meals for me. She looks up recipes on her magic phone and she experiments with them on me

We got Home Instead Senior Care for my mother. The caregivers are both very good, they stay in touch, and they make sure that her needs are met. We have service for a few hours a week. The lady is very nice, they have a good match, it's affordable, and they're local. The service is mostly companionship. The caregiver was very positive and very good.

My sisters and I engaged Home Instead help our mother after leaving the hospital. The aides were all exceptional and it gave us all great peace of mind, living in different states, to know that our mother's recovery was in such capable hands. We highly recommend them!

The Best part of Home Instead is The dedicated caregivers who care for my Mother . They go above and beyond in paying attention to every detail of their time with her - From preparing meals to making sure she has rides to appointments, etc. I also appreciate the communication they keep with their Home Instead Office - and that the office will contact me about any issues that need attention from Family.

Everyone from the office staff to the Aids are very nice and friendly. Excellent caretakers who really care about their clients. Aids are all very upbeat and pleasant. If there is ever a concern staff will immediately address it.

We used Home Instead for my wife. The caregivers cooked, cleaned, and were very helpful. I had several caregivers, and in general they were all good, cared and were compassionate. The quality of service was excellent. One caretaker was excellent and has become a personal friend. They were always punctual every time they showed up. I chose them because they allowed me to interview the plan providers and I was able to get some confidence that they were going to do the job before I went with them, so that was good. They were extremely helpful and I appreciate everything they did for her. I am extremely grateful.

We got Home Instead for mom. The girl that comes is wonderful, she’s very good with my mom, and she pampers like she’s in the spa every day. She goes above and beyond what she needs to do. Scheduling is fine, and they’re flexible. If she has something she needs, they call us and make sure that that’s okay with us. I’m very happy with the service they’re providing.
