I am reposting my review, as for some reason the original post disappeared. Please DO NOT use this company if you truly care for your loved one. Though the individual caretakers maybe well meaning, they are poorly trained in American hygiene and safe cooking practices. We had to teach the first caretaker how to store and handle food properly. He was unfamiliar with American plumbing and we had to replace a ceiling due to water damage from an upstairs shower. The second guy drank while on duty and made appropriate remarks to my niece. While we were waiting to fly up a relative to stay with my dad, the third one left my father alone while he walked to a store 2 miles away to get cigarettes. We later learned that my father had not been given the right medication dosages for the last month. My fathers health improved dramatically after our nightmare with this company ended. I did report this company to the Connecticut BBB and Secretary of Health.

As the youngest of my siblings, I knew it would be up to me to care for my older brothers and sisters as they age. My oldest sister is in her 80s and needs constant care, something that I am unable to provide on my own. With the help of Family Care Plus, my sister has received excellent care and thrived as she is able to remain at home. I feel confident in the care my sister receives as the caregivers of the company are thoughtful, friendly and experienced.

When my mother needed help with live-in elder care, I choose Family Care Plus so that my mother could stay in her home. This was the smartest decision I ever made. My mother was happy and able to thrive in her own home all the while having help from those who are experienced in elder health care. I would recommend Family Care Plus to anyone who is looking for quality live-in elder care services.

I relocated from north Carolina to work with Family care plus. I would personally like to thank the owners of this blesed conpany. For the care the consideration and the love that they show their nurses aid. The dact that they picked uo each employees and take to and from each job place ment. And to provide for their employees a place to stay while they wait to ve ace on a job is a plus. This said alot about the owners. That they care.

We hired a homecare worker from Family Care Plus who is very good. My parents like him. He is very attentive and cooks. I cannot say enough good things about the care worker. The only negative I have to say about the firm is that when my brother signed up with them, they said that they can drive. After he signs the contract, it turns out, they cannot drive. We really need someone who can drive them around and drive their cars. They are not equipped for that even though they have their own driver’s license. However, the caregiver is very good and walks the extra mile for them. The caregiver is assigned to my father, but my mother is also in the household, and he does not want to leave my mother alone. He is concerned that while my dad is in the hospital for several days, the firm may call him out and there will be no one there to be staying with my mother. I called the firm and say, “Is that true? And they say that “No. Even though we are only charging for your father, if there is couple in the household, the care worker stays there for the other partner until the person gets out of the hospital.” Communication is done well. They are cheaper than others.

They provided well trained care givers. They always made sure we were satisfied with the care my mother received. There were 2 things that could have been improved. First some of the care givers were hard to understand and secondly they didn't cook the types of food that my mother would eat. But all in all my mother received excellent care.

The person that Family Care Plus sends out here is awesome. There is no question about it. They come 24/7, 7 days a week. The billing is sent out on time by the agency. The care is a five; there is no question about it.

I thought when my parents got old, I’d be the one taking care of them, but life didn’t work out that way. My dad was diagnosed with dementia and became combative to everyone, including my mother. So while I was able to help take care of her, we both grew afraid of him. We knew he didn’t mean it, but that didn’t stop the anger and frustration he had. We hired someone to come in and help with him, and it made life so much better. We had a gentleman caregiver to help my father with his daily life, and now my mother and I are able to help him without the fear of him getting combative with us. It’s such a great feeling.

I spoke at length with the people at Family Care Plus about what my dad needs and the type of person that he is, and promptly, they found a good match for him. The caregiver they have coming in is a very caring and conscientious individual. My father is hard to please, but he is very happy with this person.
