Home Instead did a wonderful job giving at home care to my 91 Yr old Mother Betty. They prepared meals, did light housework and laundry. They confirmed Rx were taken and provided companionship as well. Everyone that came was ontime and professional. The Agency was very responsive to our needs and requests. Our interaction with everyone from BobbiJo to all the caregivers was top notch. We appreciated all the caregivers and Melissa was especially good with my Mother. They built up a nice rapport.

Home Instead was a huge help when our family needed assistance. The office staff was professional and very informed about our situation--even as it changed over time. I always felt like they really did care about us. The caretakers who worked with my Mom were kind and professional as well. They completed household tasks like laundry and light cleaning, and really engaged Mom in conversations and activities like puzzles, or ice cream trips! They kept us informed in a shared journal which was helpful. Overall, our experience was really great.

Perhaps you have the feeling that I had. I was "lost". The hospital had just told me to take my wife home as her condition was such that, they could not do anything to help. We lived alone, we're in our eighties and my wife could do noting to help. Her life was limited to our couch. Fortunately someone told our son about Home Instead. Immediately, they were on the phone with us, then they were here and the next day hospital equipment had been ordered. I was still lost but it was not as bad. I had people with me, people who understood a lot of what I did not and they shared that knowledge with me. My wife started to calm down and she had someone else to count on. Finally there was a "plan". If you are lost, call them now and let them guide you.

Home Instead caregivers have taken outstanding care of my 94 year old mother for over a year. They have assisted with activities of daily living as well as taking care of her dementia issues. For the last 5 years, HomeInstead has been this families' saving grace for my now 91 year old dad. The care, compassion and just pure joy shared with him literally kept him alive, and engaged in living. The caregivers ensured dad got out of the house in the good weather, picked up his meds, brought him for blood tests, kept his home running well, prepared healthy food (and some unhealthy just for fun), bird watched, painted with pastels, put puzzles together, talked books and movies, and whatever else came their way. Home Instead provides my 95 year old father with exceptional care in his home. His caregiver is simply outstanding. She helps him manage his daily activities and ensures he has groceries in and meals prepared. She also takes him out to local farm stands and lunch which he enjoys. Most importantly, she is incredibly compassionate, knows how to read his moods and needs, and is a fun companion for him. She clearly cares about him, which is so important. And as his daughter she ensures I am in the loop and works with us when we need to address any issues. I feel very supported by her and immensely appreciative that she is in our lives. Home Instead as a company has been exceedingly responsive to our needs and requests. They work shoulder to shoulder with us to ensure Dad has the care that he needs, and you can tell they really enjoy interacting with him. I have absolutely nothing but positive regards for the care they have provided my Dad and would recommend them highly.

5 stars isn’t enough !! I had knee surgery on Nov.8th & needed someone to stay over night as per Doctors orders. Bobbijoe was so compassionate, professional and helpful and was able to find a fantastic caregiver named Nelly to stay over & make sure I was OK. Nelly was so helpful & professional also & had such a calming demeanor. I had no way of getting home after the surgery & without hesitation Bobbijoe said she would pick me up & get me settled in. Nelly met up with us at my house & Bobbijoe showed her around & what I’d need help for. I needed to ice my knee 24/7 but was unable to get the ice I needed daily. Again, without hesitation Bobbijoe said she’d help me and she brought me ice on a daily until I was able to drive myself. They are absolute angels on earth & I appreciate all they did for me!! They went above & beyond, especially Bobbijoe & helped so much with giving me ease of mind during my recovery. I will most definitely use them in the future if the need arises! If you’re reading this because you’ll need help with home care soon, don’t hesitate to use this amazing company! I highly recommend them, you won’t be disappointed!!

I want to thank Home Instead for taking such good care of our 88-year-old mother, and tell all of you readers about the very good experience we had in working with Home Instead. To put it mildly, my mother was a tough cookie. Set in her ways, independent, and didn't see that she needed help as she aged, didn't want "strangers" in her house. Her health declined rapidly and she also had dementia setting in. Home Instead set us up with 3 main ladies (with alternating shifts) who were so experienced they knew how to deal with mom, to the point that she looked forward to their visits. On 2 occasions, the door to my mother's house was locked when Home Instead arrived, and my mother had fallen inside and was on the ground. Not even knowing this yet, the Home Instead ladies didn't let a locked door prevent them from getting in to start their shift. They checked all doors and windows around the house until they got in, found her, then provided immediate help. That's just one of 100 examples I could make about how these ladies went above and beyond. Did they arrive on time? Yes, but they did so much more. My mother said the lunch they make her is "too pretty to eat." The ladies could get my mother to behave, eat on time, get ready for bed, etc., better than we daughters could! The excellent ladies that we grew to love are Michelle, Janet and Marjorie. Another important aspect of our relationship with Home Instead was the Office/billing/management responsibilities. The ladies in the office were very responsive and proactive. They auto-submitted our billing info to our insurance provider, which made things very easy for us. They kept in touch regularly, brought unplanned events or emergencies to our attention, and checked in regularly to see how WE felt things were going and asked for suggestions on how to improve. Bobbi and Shara were my main contacts there. Eventually my mother's condition became too difficult to handle at home and she is now living in an assisted living center. This is the only reason why we stopped working with Home Instead. If you're still reading this, you know how difficult it is to take care of aging parents and you're looking for help. You may not know who to call or even what help you need. Call Home Instead. You won't be sorry!

Home Instead has incredibly wonderful home health aides and very supportive administrative staff. My mother was very well cared for in her own home where she could still be close to her beloved dog and cat. Everyone was so nice, accommodating, understanding and positive. Each home health aide provided excellent care, delicious meals and engaging conversation. I would highly recommend Home Instead to anyone who is looking to keep their loved one in the comfort of their own home. We are very grateful for all that Home Instead did for my mother.

I used caregivers from Home Instead Senior Care- Northeastern CT last summer to care for my invalid wife, 5 hours each day. I'm very pleased with both the caregivers and the agency. There were some peculiarities of our situation, which the agency was attentive to understand, and worked with me to accommodate. I needed an emergency service to stay with my disabled wife, and to provide fundamental daily services in my unexpected absence. Home Instead, upon contact, responded immediately providing a variety of skills and talents, which in sum, more than met my needs. All staff were polite, on time, conscientious, supportive to our needs, and were clearly to be trusted for security, Covid compliance, and personal care. Personnel "fit in" with our home environment, and provided a warm, supportive atmosphere, thus reducing a stressful period. All services provided were top-notch. We had a wonderful experience with Home Instead. The caregivers who worked with my mother (who is 86 and has dementia) were warm and caring women who went above and beyond every time they came to my parents' home. Not only did they provide excellent care for my mother, they also took my father's needs into consideration. The caregiver's were reliable, well-trained and experienced so they knew how best to help my mother. After a short-time, the caregivers essentially became part of our family. The Home Instead office staff are friendly, helpful and very efficient. Whenever I called, the office staff genuinely wanted to know how both my mother and father were doing and how everything was working out. Home Instead also publishes a periodic news letter that's provides a lot of helpful information. I would highly recommend Home Instead to anyone who is looking to have an experience similar to ours.

They're very good. I would definitely use them again. Everybody was very nice, punctual and came in time. They did what I wanted them to do, I did not have problems with them. And the most important thing for me was that they did not bring me any virus. They wore mask, and when I was eating in the kitchen, they could not be where I was. In many cases, once they did the job, they will just sit down until I would tell them the next job. But they had to sit in the dining room, they could not be next to me. And because I have so many different people here, I had to make sure they're all safe, and they didn't have it.

They were wonderful. Met every need before I even thought of it. Very patient and great with my animals. Made my Christmas! I will definitely use them again.

I listed myself as a current client as I was until last week when my Aunt passed. We started out using Home Instead 3 days a week and my Aunt took a turn rapidly for worse. We were 7 days and went 24/7 during her last few weeks. Bobbi and her team were great, flexible and so great to work with. The communication was great and everyone seemed to care for my Aunt. I would highly recommend Home Instead as they were a life saver for my family. Being far away was a challenge and Bobbi and the team made it easy. I’m sad we lost a great one but I am forever grateful for the help as she was able to die at home which was her wish.

We've used Home Instead providers for my now-92-yr-old mom for a number of years, initially for a few hours daily and, most recently, for 24-hr care. The staff at the office has always been extremely accommodating to special requests, as well as finding substitute providers, even at the last minute, if the scheduled provider cannot be there. I've met all of the providers over the years, and they have been outstanding in terms of the direct services they are allowed to provide. The downside is that, probably for legal reasons, there are tasks they are not allowed to provide, such as administer medication. Because my mom needed 24-hr-care, coupled with the high cost of Home Instead, we recently moved her into a nursing home, which is less costly, and where nurses are allowed to administer medication. Were it not for cost and task-limitations, I would gladly have kept mom in her apartment with providers from Home Instead. Despite the limitations, I enthusiastically give Home Instead my highest recommendation, and would not hesitate to use them when fewer hours are needed and when medication can be self-administered.

Home Instead has made such a difference in my father's life. His home help visitor comes twice a week for a couple of hours in the afternoon, and even this relatively small amount of time makes all the difference. My father (83 years old) feels comfortable with the woman who helps him and looks forward to her visits. She helps with cleaning and grocery shopping, but perhaps even more important, she is a cheerful and kind companion. She is reliable and punctual. Home Instead has also been great about communicating with me, always answering emails promptly. I would definitely recommend Home Instead for older adults who need some support to keep living independently at home.

Home Instead saved my life and my income. I asked them to come in because I gave up driving and my cousin told me how Home Instead helped him with his wife. I gave them a call and when they arrived, there was a letter on my table that I thought was junk. The person made a few phone calls and found out that my social security was about to be sent to a different account and that my address had been changed. Another time, they arrived to find me feeling under the weather. The Care Coordinator took me to the hospital and stayed with me until I was seen and taken care of. 7 hours ! I would be lost without my Home Instead people. I am thankful for them every day.

Home Instead Senior Care provided 24/7 care for my Father, because of the kind and compassionate caregivers he was able to stay in his own home until the very end. From the beginning all staff members have been caring and understanding. When the need came to increase the shifts from rise and tuck to an afternoon shift as well was told we will work on it right away. When we then needed to have 24 hour care due to injury to my father was told not a problem will work on this right away.
