About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

Our caregiver is dependable and always arrives on time. Providing meals, personal care, rides to appointments, lunch and coffee outings, and visits with friends are only some of her responsibilities.
She has become a part of our family and we look forward to the time she spends here. She has brought friendship and fun times and ideas for activities, which is so important for our family member.
When we have a need to make schedule changes, the agency and caregiver are always helpful.
We discuss our care plan often and work together to improve care and make her time here beneficial to our family member.
She's a gem!

The agency provides all the services we need. The caregivers arrive on time. Our current caregiver, Stevie, goes above and beyond in everything she does and the entire family is thankful for how caring she is with our parents. We would be hard pressed if we had to get along without her. We've also been happy with all the other caregivers that have been in to help. The agency has addresssed all our needs and requests in a timely manner and the staff at the agency is very kind and understanding of any special needs we have had since we have been with them.

There caregivers are outstanding! Very caring, experienced, well trained and friendly. This made things do much easier for my mom. Our current caregiver is enthusiastic with a take charge kind of personality! She’s fun and vibrant!! Love her!
She makes exercise and nutritional meals a priority , as well as great activities!

Our family would like to recognize Krista, who takes wonderful care of our Mom three mornings a week.
She is incredibly dependable and arrives on time or early, regardless of the weather. She always has a smile on her face and is easy to talk to. Krista notices when things need to be done or cleaned...and does them!
Mom is very comfortable with Krista and the family knows she is being taken care of.

Mom is 98+ and I live with her. For the most part I've been helping her since she fell in late 2019, but about a year ago, after a compression fracture and hospital stay then in-house rehab, the load became too great. Home Instead came during the nights when we first got her home again, and now, for several months, we've had them come 3 days a week, helping with showers, walks, visiting, light housekeeping, I'm able to take better care of myself both physically and mentally. Peggy has been such a blessing, her taking on Mom's care week after week. I can leave the house and feel totally at ease leaving Peggy to manage anything Mom might need. Peggy has become more than a relief caregiver, she has become a trusted friend. If the schedule needs to change one week, Peggy has been totally accommodating. Any call I make to the home office has been cordial, and always successful. I would definitely recommend Home Instead, but I selfishly want to keep Peggy to ourselves, for she is a real treasure !

I have a girl 5 mornings a week to help with routine care and house hold chores. She is here from 8am to noon. she is very caring and does a good job.

Mom has been very happy with Home Instead. The caregivers have been kind, supportive and helped her to feel safe. During the pandemic raging, they were a life-saver for mom. She wasn't alone at a time we couldn't visit her. The caregivers followed instructions and guidance both from mom and from us. Thank you, Home Instead!

Very friendly, responsive. and competent. Structured in-home care to fit the needs of my elderly Mother, and not the otherway around (i.e. my Mother did not have to adjust her life to fit the in-homecare. Very happy with Home Instead. Their GrandPad is a customized iPad with simplified user interface. My mom was a self proclaimed techno-phob, but she uses her grandpad regularly to listen to music, post photos, comment on photos and videos. Last Friday she initiated a video chat with her granddaughter in Germany!

My mother needed care and part of her requirements was help with her dog. We interviewed several different organizations. So glad they are who we selected - mom got the best care ever - the dog was loved and the GrandPad was a wonderful way to stay in touch! All of mom's care givers were great but a special shout out to Sharon - mom's first care giver - she was exactly what mom needed!

The agency provides a caretaker for my husband who has dementia. The caretakers do for the most part arrive on time, and I am notified if one is going to be late. I have enjoyed working with all the caretakers and am pleased to leave my husband in their care.
Working with the agency has been pleasant and easy. They respond to my needs quickly and pleasantly.

Our care provider, Cheryl E., does an outstanding job with my wife who has Alzheimer's. Cheryl is firm and kind in dealing with her. Cheryl stays busy and looks for ways to help out here at home.

The entire experience has been superb. The communication is tremendous and the consistency of caregivers is extremely reliable. While all the caregivers are very good, our morning person, Christy, is someone I rely on and I am very grateful to have. I don't know how I would have been able to manage the last year without this team!

The caregivers from Home Instead are fine. They show up on time, and they leave on time. They’re very cooperative. They’ll do stuff that you ask them to do cheerfully. They’re nice. I think the lady that comes to visit my mother-in-law from Home Instead is very pleasant. We have been using them for six weeks now. I like the fact that they had to do training. They kind of already have ideas about what they should be looking for and so forth, but they don’t do any medical things.

The caregiver from Home Instead Senior Care is really good with my wife. The agency is really good, and I've been really pleased with them. The caregiver takes the initiative to do what's needed with my wife, so I'm pleased with her.

I chose Home Instead for my mom and dad because mainly I like the woman that I spoke to. She would stay on the phone with me for a long time, and she listens to what our needs were. They also were just a little bit less expensive than some of the others. We started out 24/7 care, and we went through a few caregivers. There are probably three that did not work out, but now she has three caregivers that are alternating days, and she is very happy with them. They help with her physical therapy and walking. They do cooking and cleaning as well. They have been so good in trying to accommodate our needs.

We’re using Home Instead Senior Care, and they’ve been very good. The person who comes is very nice, patient, and considerate. He does a good job of doing whatever he’s asked to do. We’re only using them on a short term basis for a few hours every 2 weeks.

This caregiver is wonderful. She is a strong Christian. Compassionate, and artistic -- makes creative cards for me. She is a fantastic house cleaner. She wrapped all my Christmas gifts. She helps me with outside things too. She sews for me.

I am the eldest son of a former client of Home Instead Senior Care. During the time my mother received care it was done so in the most caring, compassionate and professional manner. Mother and the entire family were completely satisfied with the service from company management and the individual care providers/givers. We have used caregivers from Home Instead since 2008, that the end of life care my husband was in hospice and home for 3 months with the last 11 days in hospice residence.

Their service is outstanding. They are very compassionate and loving people. My wife is now in an Alzheimer's Center but Home Instead was so very good. I would highly recommend them to anybody. They helped me through a very hard time. Anyone that needs more info is welcome to contact me.

Home Instead helped my family through the most difficult time of our lives when my mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Although we had home hospice, it was Home Instead that was there for us 24/7 until Mom died 12 days after her diagnosis. HI's capable caregivers guided us on how to care for Mom in her last days, and with their support we had more time to be with Mom. In such a confusing situation, we didn't know what to do - but HI's caregivers knew, and stepped in unsupervised to show us how they could help. What a gift they are.

I have been using Home Instead for the last year and find them to be responsive to my questions and concerns. The caregivers are wonderful and have a great rapport with my mother. I have had a couple of emergency situations where I needed care on the spur of the moment and they were able to meet my needs. This was such a relief for me and I know my mother is in good hands.
