About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

My mother has sundowners dementia and it was getting harder for my family to take turns helping my mother in the evenings. We reached out to Home Instead and they have been wonderful from day one. The office staff is amazing and very helpful. The care givers, especially, Leticia, Carolyn and Cat have been amazing with my mom. They cook dinners together, go for walks, watch movies, do puzzles and games, and some light cleaning. Home Instead does reviews with my mom and us as her condition gets worse and her needs increase to help make sure they are doing everything they can to help my mom. So very grateful for Home Instead!!

The office staff and caregivers at Home Instead have been great to work with and have given my mom wonderful care! We have really appreciated the care and service they have provided, and I know my mom feels the same. The caregivers are always on time, extremely patient, well trained, careful, innovative in the activities they conduct with my mom, and do a good job communicating with us.

As FT caregiver of my almost 102 yo mother, requiring constant "eyes-on" to prevent falls, happy conversation to ease dimentia, and full personal care, I needed some occasional help so I could take care of my mental and physical health and appointments. I engaged HomeInstead almost a year ago for 3 half days a week and it has been wonderful - not just for my respite needs, but as an expansion of my sweet mother's "circle of friends" - we have been fortunate to have consistent times with Kelley and with Jenny who have different personalities and both delightful matches as company for her, lifting her out of the fog that distresses her!
Regardless of weather both of these angels arrive on time, smiling and upbeat, bringing joy into the home. While waiting for her to awaken, they use their time cleaning and often cooking (plus allowing me some minutes of delightful conversation) then provide great personal care getting her up, dressed, assisting in all ways. The physical work they do helps me to be able to have mom continue life in my home and I am so grateful for the way they interact with my lovely mother! It has made our lives better!

Home Instead has been assisting me since my hip replacement in 2015. They have continued to help me with household chores, including laundry, cooking, and shopping. I have been very pleased with their care.
7 weeks ago I had knee replacement surgery. Home Instead provided 24/7 care with skill and thoughtfulness; specifically, Kristy, Yuliya, Rocio, and Victoria. This has been a rough recovery and I would not be as far along without them. I will continue to use Home Instead as needed during my lifetime.

When we decided we needed to start in-home care for my parents, it was overwhelming. The professionals at Home Instead were caring and easy to communicate with. They offered clear and quick answers to our questions and they were able to be helpful with navigating how to access our long-term care insurance. The caregivers have all been willing to go the extra mile to take care of my parent's needs. The caregivers help with showering, dressing, getting meals. Without this service, my parents would not be able to live in their home. We have been more than pleased with the service and would highly recommend Home Instead.

Home Instead has been helping with our mom for a littler over a year. We had tried other senior care services, but the result were unsatisfactory.
Our moms caregiver, Jan has been a tremendous help. She has always arrived on time for her 7am shift, she helps with showers, meals, and reminders to take meds. On good weather days to gets mom out on her scooter for fresh air. Jan is kind, friendly, happy. She works hard, communicates well with us, and always has our moms well being her top priority.

Crystal has been a favorite helper for many months now and she remembers what I need help with and I don't have to remind her. She knows how to help me with my oxygen and gets me into the car with the help I need, and is a careful driver. I need special help getting into the car and she does it so well and then takes notes for me when I visit the doctors I need to see. She is always on time and cheerful. Almost like a second daughter to me and I hope she will continue to help me.

My mom absolutely loves Valerie.
Valerie engages my mom with painting, books, platings card games, and even has helped her to try to sew again.
Valerie is the next best thing to me (if I wasn’t working and doing chores!)

My father and step-mother were starting to required more and more assistance. I contacted Home Instead and they were so helpful. We had many ups and downs with my step-mother who has alzheimers. The office staff and caregivers were amazing. When I felt lost, they were always there to help guide me. Our caregivers were so always willing to help with whatever our needs were at the time. We recently had to place my step-mother in a skilled nursing facility. My father will start requiring assistance soon and I will, with no question, request care from Home Instead - Denver North.

Home Instead was a valuable resource for us in keeping our mom in her home for the past two years. The caregivers were wonderful and the staff was always helpful. They were easy to work with and we could not have managed this long without them! Though we made the tough decision to move mom to an assisted living as her dementia had progressed, up until the day before, Home Instead caregivers were there for us. Cannot thank them enough and recommend them to anyone needing home help!

I have used Home Instead's services since 2017 for two of my elderly aunts who did not have children, but wanted to remain at home. I am very pleased with the excellent care and selfless service provided by the caregivers. My aunts developed close relationships with their caregivers, and grew to really depend on them for their wellbeing. I was there for many of the interactions of the caregivers with my aunts and saw how compassionate and patient the caregivers were. This made me feel very at ease. The office staff were also incredibly compassionate and worked tirelessly to respond to any special requests or changes that I needed, especially when my aunts were both nearing the end of their lives and needed more round-the-clock care. I recommend Home Instead to everyone that I know that needs care for there elderly loved one.

Home Instead had been a lifesaver. Our loved one lives In Denver and we live 3 hrs round trip from him. We still take him to important doctors appointments but the care giver takes him to others.
He really likes his caregiver and that really helps us.
Home Instead had been great to work with. Keeps in touch with us about changes and issues.
We haven’t a problem with anything. They’re just great.

Home Instead has given me tremendous peace of mind knowing that compassionate and reliable help for my mom is there every day. I live in another state and I can easily stay in touch with the team. They are thoughtful, caring and supportive. I never feel like I can't ask for something - they are super helpful. I so appreciate the support and genuine caring for my mom.

I hired Home Instead to provide 24 care for my 95 year old mother so that we would have time to figure out our long term options. They were so friendly and easy to work with. They were able to accommodate the short notice that we needed someone right away to stay with my Mom. The caregivers were always on time and never missed a shift. We had many different caregivers and my Mom enjoyed all of them. Some were more willing to jump in while others were more tentative.
This is an expensive way to care for a loved one but I knew they would be there if they were needed.

I appreciate the quick response to requests and issues. My mom wasn’t sure and very hesitant when she started her care with Home Instead. The staff was very reassuring and worked diligently to reassure our family and my mom that they could deal with our Family’s needs. Through actions, communications and regular timely updates, I feel good about my moms care.Every team member I have interacted with has been professional and always willing to help. The fact that mom can stay in her home safely with COVID-19 looming, is a godsend. Home Instead has taken every possible precaution to assure my mom stays safe by updating protocols to incorporate CDC guidelines and mandates.Home Instead is caring for the most precious people who are at greatest risk to COVID-19. I applaud their efforts!!

My husband came home from the hospital just before Covid-19 closed the doors of nursing homes to relatives. He was very sick, but I couldn't stand the idea of his being left in a nursing home without me being able to visit him. Home Instead provided excellent care-givers during those first couple of weeks. They took great care of him and taught me how to take care of him as well. Four months later he is up and walking with a walker, able to feed himself and help in small ways with his own care. I still have caregiver help three times a week to give myself a break and to help me with home care. The caregivers assigned have always been exactly what we needed at each step-in his recovery. I'm so grateful Home Instead has been and will continue to be here for us as we travel this difficult road.

We started with Home Instead on January 1st this year and have had a wonderful experience with the caregivers especially during this uncertain and difficult time with the stay at home order and social distancing. My mother, age 92, lives in an independent facility but needs help with dressing, etc.. I usually spend 3 afternoons a week with her. Previous company used had been unreliable with scheduling and billing to Long term care insurance and I was determined to make a change for 2020 so started looking in November.
The professionalism, caring and thoughtfulness the HI caregivers have extended to my mom has truly been a godsend for both of us at time. Since I have not been able to be with Mom since March 16 the caregivers have been so helpful meeting me in front of the building before or during their shifts so I can give various things to her like groceries, prescriptions. They have brought her flowers to cheer her up, helped her use the GrandPad to connect with relatives out of state and been thoughtful companions for her doing puzzles, playing music, watching funny videos on the computer. In the the short 4 months we have been with HI it has been a comfort and a relief to me to have such nice caregivers and a reliable company.....even with the billing!

The care giver is a perfect fit for my loved one.
She is compassionate, caring and resourceful. Home Instead does a good job of matching caregivers with clients. We have used their services before and have always been very satisfied!

All of the caregivers who took care of my husband were kind, gentle and understanding of his needs and mine. Each one somehow understood what was needed and how to quickly do that. Every one of the caregivers took care to protect his privacy when possible and mine all the time. We were fortunate to set up the services of Home Instead before leaving the hospital. From the very first day to the last day, we had perfect people. All of the caregivers were outstanding. Barbara did an amazing job and the schedulers were all super.
Everyone arrived on time and transferred care to each other quickly. We could not have been more pleased. Thank you Home Instead for helping my husband to a quick recovery.

Our experience with Home Instead was good. There are some very caring people that worked there. I think it was recommended to us. We chose them because basically we thought that that might meet our needs that time. They just provided care, companion service and just kept an eye on my mom and did some light housing things. We did talk with them about non smokers and they did their best to accommodate us with the resources that they had. We worked through that so it was okay. They were good.

We were in a situation where mom needed 24-hour care. My only challenge was the price, but thankfully we were able to utilize Home Instead for about 4 weeks. It went really well. Everyone that came was very attentive to her, kind, listens to her like a friend, someone who looks after her when we couldn't be there 24 hours. We were very grateful and it all worked out good. We could trust someone we didn't know with our mom. And thankfully it all went very well.
A lot of different people came. At times it was hard to get used to, but when mom got to know them they would be back again, and she would know who they were. We actually hated to have to end this service. We ran out of money. We had to find a more permanent option for our family's financial situation. But during the time we had, the crisis we were going through, they were a godsend to us for sure. My brother-in-law's family found Home Instead. We didn't have any trouble at all. We're happy with it.

I just picked Home Instead from a phone book but they provide very good service. They help my spouse with all of her household duties. The caregivers are terrific. We love them! I would recommend them to those who are looking for an in home care agency.

I had good experience with Home Instead before so I just try to use them again. I use a walker because Im a fall risk. They stay with me and they also do lighthouse work. My caregiver is excellent. I have been lucky enough to have the same one all the time, I don't like changing around. I have Karen on a regular schedule for four hours a day right now. So far, everything is working out just fine.

I was calling different agencies and talking to whoever was in charge. I just didn't feel comfortable talking to these people even though I'm sure they were well qualified. I didn't feel a connection. But when I talked to people at Home Instead, I felt a real good connection with them. These are the kind of people I would like to have giving me a caregiver because I did have a good rapport with them and I felt comfortable with the person I'm talking to. I liked what I heard that's why I decided to stay with them. Carol is my caregiver. She comes twice a week, Wednesday morning and Saturday afternoon for about three hours each time. She provides me with just standard help mostly housekeeping duties and transportation. She cleans the bathroom and kitchen, mops the floor, vacuums, sometimes picks up medicine to Kaiser clinic and takes me to appointments or shopping. She is wonderful! I love her. She's very helpful, always ask me what things I want done and she'll do whatever. I sometimes do a list and she'll go through the list and do what I put on the list. She's good-natured. We have a good rapport and seems to have many of the same values and interests so I enjoy her come and visit me twice a week. I'm very happy with Home Instead and I'm glad I found them.

I chose Home Instead through a recommendation. I've been using them for about 11 months now. They provide home care because I can't bathe on my own and do other stuff. Like today, they took me to the doctor. I have four different caregivers. They just do excellent care. They're timely. Billing and scheduling is excellent too. I will also recommend them to others.

I had Home Instead come in one day a week because I had surgery on my back, been in rehab and had been home bound. They're wonderful. Renee, my caregiver is just fabulous. She's here four hours every Tuesday morning. I've had her the whole time and it’s perfect. While she's here in the house, I take a shower that way if something happens, someone's here. After I'm done with the shower, she cleans the bathroom. She also changes my bed, washes the clothes, dusts, vacuums floors, cleans the kitchen and takes out the garbage. I have stuff on the garage on the shelf that I can use as a pantry and she brings in whatever I need. She is work, work, work all the time. I have a list of what needed to be done and “Oh my Gosh!” My bed is changed or the kitchen is tidy already. Plus, she is just a great gal. That makes it even better because she is pleasant to have in my house. When she leaves, I feel so good because everything has been done and my house looks great.
I've known about Home Instead for years and talked about how they background checked everybody. When I needed somebody I know exactly where to go. It was just easy to pick a home care provider. I knew they were a good company and I knew they were great people. Kurt is just wonderful. He is such a caring man. Billing is very easy too. They email me my bill and I pay my bills online. I'm lucky to have them. They have been a Godsend to me. They're a blessing.

Home Instead is very good. I have basically the same two caregivers for Pat. She is a stroke victim and is bedridden now. They're very consistent, are good with her and do everything that needs to be done. Fran comes in the morning. We change her and reposition her. Then Fran feeds her because there are times that I'd be gone. There comes the night and the same things are done - changes, repositions and makes sure she is comfortable. I'm just been VERY pleased with the service.

I'm very satisfied with all my services from Home Instead. Everything is fine. All my caregivers are good. I treasure every one of them. Dorothy is my number one caregiver and she holds me together. She's wonderful. They provide everything I need. They clean for me, take care of me and feed me. They also drive for me when I need to go to the doctor or dentist. Everything I need or ask for they provide very quickly. I'm doing well and improving a little bit everyday so thank you very much.

My caregiver, Tara, was my wife's caregiver until my wife's passing. She is now my caregiver. She's an amazing person. I couldn't get along without her. I think the world is full of unrecognized saints and she is certainly one of them.

We appreciate Home Instead VERY much. The caregiver my mother has at this time is just exceptional. She is very caring, devoted and treats her with so much respect as an elderly person. She helps with light housekeeping, bathing, doing lotion and things like that after bathing, dressing, helping my mother with her morning meal, watching over her while she separates her medication and checking the status of her physical wellness as far as how weak she is with her walking and things with her walker. My mother just loves her dearly and appreciates all of the attention and the help that she provides. This particular caregiver actually happens to be with my mother at a time when she experienced a stroke. This individual happened to save my mom from permanent damage and or saved her life. The staff at Home Instead have been an incredible resource for us. I'll give Home Instead a 4 star rating but I'll particularly give her caregiver 5 stars.

Home Instead did a really good job. My grandmother had some dementia and she didn't have more than a month. They sat with her, made sure she can walk to the bathroom and was drinking and offered to cook her lunch. They seemed supportive and have some training with dementia. I would recommend them but I just don't feel we had that long enough to really say I will give them 5 stars rating.

Caregivers are very helpful to my needs. They are kind and thoughtful to me. Both caregivers of mine are wonderful drivers. Very thorough on all household task. They go above and beyond. I am happy to have both my caregivers. I am afraid if I did not have them I would be in an assisted living or something.

This comment is to commend Marisa, for her excellent care of my mother who has Alzheimer's. She has a natural calm that helps keep my mother calm. She's able to wash and dress efficiently. She is also a ready and hard worker for the cleaning I have her do. I trust her. She comes in to care for my mom for 4 hours each Sunday and Thursday. Dependable, never late or absent.

Home Instead caregivers are nurturing, caring, and responsible people. I felt very blessed to have their caregivers take care of my parents. They gave me such peace of mind since I live out of state. I liked how they advocated for my parents when I could not be there. The office staff was very responsive to any concern or questions! I strongly recommend Home Instead!

Home Instead is great, I like them. Sarah is great. Debbie who does my mom on Tuesdays is probably the most wonderful person you’ll ever meet. KC is great too. They’re all pretty good. I have no problem. If ever you need them on days that they are not there, they will find somebody. They go above and beyond.

I would like to thank Jon who played hours of dominoes with my mom. Always caring and brought goodies for her. Georgette was so caring and amazing with my mom. She had nothing but love for my mom.
