About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

My wife has dementia and as her condition progressed, providing her with proper care, along with my normal daily life was beginning to take its toll. Home Instead has been a much needed and helpful lifeline for my wife and I. We receive 20 hours of care in our home each week. All of the caregivers we have had the pleasure to work with have been kind, empathetic, and professional. They arrive on time, quickly learn our daily routine and establish a trusting relationship from the very start. If there is a change in the availability or schedule of our caregiver, we receive a call to advise us and to offer some options that will best work for us. They are very flexible and will do whatever they can to accommodate our needs. In the early stages, finding one or two main caregivers who we know was a challenge. With time, it seems are are finding some stability which of course makes our lives easier. Our caregivers are all background checked and experienced. They are also approved by our longer term care insurance and work with them directly to submit a biweekly time chart of the care we have received. We recommend Home Instead for anyone looking for quality in-home care.

We are truly grateful for Home Instead and their friendly and compassionate caregivers. My mother-in-law, who lives in an assisted living facility, has later stage Parkinson’s and needs round the clock care. Her regular caregivers Mikayla, Vivian, and Racquel attend to her with much gentleness and love. Mary from the office also stops by now and then to check in with Mom. Occasionally, there are other caregivers who fill in. They are equally compassionate and attentive. We thank you ladies!
We are confident and appreciative of the excellent and loving care Mom is receiving from her care providers. Thank you ladies on how you care for Mom so well.

My wife has moderate ALZ. Home Instead had been recommended by close friends. Initally, my wife objected to caregivers and was a difficult client. Home Intead worked closely with us and found a caregiver that was right for the situation. Gail responds to my wife's frequent negativity with kindness and understanding that only comes with experience. When my wife is in a positve mood, Gail interacts very well with her. She is really very concerned and caring.

Home Instead has assembled a very competent and helpful team to assist with the care of my wife. Sarah K, Irene, and Megan are all trusted care givers. There are others as well that fill in and assist when they are available. Care givers are on time - and wiling to accommodate special needs. Home Instead has been responsive to schedule my preferred care givers for my wife - as well as covering for my changing schedule to assure appropriate care is available when needed. Home Instead has been a valuable partner.

Everyone at Home Instead in Castle Rock truly cares. I live across the country from my mom but feel at peace knowing this team is in charge of her care. The office employees are great to work with and their caregivers are angels on earth. Home Instead was highly recommended to me by some friends. I have been very pleased with the service and know my mom is too.

I'd love to be able to write a good review, but can't. #1: after multiple requests they still couldn't figure out how to spell my name correctly on the contract. No biggie but... #2: we requested a COVID-VACCINATED caregiver and the woman showed up SICK from her second vax. I sent her home. WTH??? The next caregiver was irritated with me, saying my front steps should have been shoveled for him. I'm 74 with cancer. If I could do that I wouldn't need help. #3: they screwed up the schedule and did not show up as needed after my chemo, which is the ONLY time I really needed them. Strike three you're out. I would not hire these people, they talk big but are extremely unreliable.

Everything was fine with Home Instead Castle Rock, I didn't have any complaints. The pricing is atrociously high for me but I need to have help. So in that case, I'm kind of stuck with that situation. It equals out to be per hour if I use the same amount of time. To my way of thinking, that is not really a fair thing to me. There are days when I needed people here for 24 hours, but some days, just 2 days for me. The young person that they sent, we get along really well, and she's doing the same type of things that the other agency was doing.

The individuals at Home Instead have been extremely accommodating in helping make sure my mom, Susan, receives the best care. Ann truly cares about my mom and we look forward to her visits.

We like everything about dealing with Home Instead Castle Rock! Great Care first of all, but also their responsiveness to any concerns, the ability to add extra hours when needed, and excellent communications with their office and staff. We would highly recommend this company to any of our senior friends.

We have used Home Instead for over a year now. They are absolutely wonderful and obviously find excellent and caring people to provide support to my mother with Alzheimer's Disease. They treat her respectfully, they do not talk down to her, she has her dignity and they are ALWAYS on time. The company works hard to find the right person for my Mom and boy, do they find the right person.
They also can get hours covered when something comes up or if I need a date night with my husband!!
We are very fortunate to have this agency in our lives!!!
