Nu Care is an independently owned and operated non-medical in-home care and wheelchair/gurney transportation provider. We are compassionate professionals committed to our clients' safety, dignity, level of care, and quality of life. Nu Care Long Beach serves South-Eastern Los Angeles County. Nu Care Wheelchair/Gurney Transportation services cover the entire Orange County, Long Beach and surrounding areas in Southern California.

I'm very happy with Nu Care for my mom. They're excellent. The caregiver is caring and thoughtful. She goes out of her way to help and is just very mindful of her job. She works 30 hours a week. They're almost a God-send; I really got lucky with them. I looked over candidates and I interviewed them. I picked this caregiver myself, and we're very happy with her.

I got Nu Care Long Beach for my wife, and as far as I know, it's really good. She seems to be happy when I come back after they've taken care of her. All but one caregiver is excellent. The one caregiver was OK, but not the best, and except for that one, they've been really prompt. They provide companionship, and we have pretty good communication with the agency. That's the best in price that I could find. I'm happy with them. I only use them for four hours to six hours a week.

The caregivers are on time, and they care. It makes me more comfortable to get out because I know my loved one is in good hands.
The agency cares and they listen if I have anything about what my loved one likes and doesn't like. They find the perfect fit of caregiver, and they come on time.

We have a special needs son, and the monthly respite care is wonderful.
The care providers have been wonderful. They have been professional, reliable, and have provided a great service.

They come in and do my phone calls for me because I get confused dealing with the calls. They organize the house and make it more livable.
They need to provide transportation.

They take care of a lot of things. It depends on the caregiver. We needed somebody to take care of my loved one and they certainly do that.
They're a little expensive but I like them. They seem to show up on time and they're always covered. If someone can't make it, then someone else comes.

Anything she sees I need done, she does without asking.

It is a matter of coordinating what the client wants and what the agency can deliver. The performance of the caregivers is excellent.
I would like better coverage. They need more people to cover all of the hours in the morning.

My mother is in bad enough shape, that I would not be able to leave the home to go to work.
So far, we have only had one care provider, and she has been awesome.

We like how we deal directly with the caregiver.
We have one caregiver. We have her four hours a day and five days a week. She is perfect. I do not know what we would do without her. We are thrilled with her.

He was pretty much out of it, but he was happy with the care when he was aware. It was a lifesaver for me because I was not able to be there 24 hours, and they also gave me the support that I wasn't receiving from a family member at the time.
They were accessible when I needed help, even on New Years.

They could improve by having better communication.
At this poin,t I am still looking over our schedule. It looks like something with our hours has gone rye. I am happy with my caregiver. They have switched the scheduling department to a new person and she seems a little overwhelmed. She said that she had a whole month over scheduled hours. They need to be more organized, give me a summary of hours, and give me a way that I can log in. They need to have better communication. They should be able to send me a a quick text or email.

She really helps me and she gets along with him. She comes in and greets him, and gets him ready for his walk for a couple of blocks. They come back, help take his shoes off, and get him something to eat and drink. She gives him a shower.

The services help because my husband works and I am mostly by myself with my father in law. Having the caregiver come here and get him dressed, make sure that he has breakfast and such, is great! we work together as a team to make sure Papa is comfortable.
I would tell others that the people who come out here are super educated, they are very caring, they get to know the patient well, and their needs, and they take care of those needs.

The services help the most by helping me do things that I need help doing, like shopping and doing things around the house.

Celeste has some cognitive problems and think she doesn't need them.
I have no experience with other agencies. I love the regular person, the new person was inexperienced.

They are good, they can't do anything else to improve, and it just has to do with the situation that Juan is in. I have a little more time now to rest.
I like that they are doing what they need to do and they are always available to help. Everything goes well.

His daily life has not changed that much, but mine has. His caregiver does things around the house, dresses my husband, and bathes my husband.

My husband is incontinent, so they take care of him, do light housework, and help me in that way.
They are caring. The caregiver takes care of everything and takes good care of my husband. They are very concerned about everything.

The caregiver who comes is okay, but dealing with the office staff is difficult.
With the new owner, things are fine, but before, it was hard to deal with the office. If I want to talk about the schedule, they say they will call, but I usually have to call them back.

I absolutely need them. I can't walk very far anymore, so they help me get around.
They could send in the insurance company requests, like how the insurance company wants it. They still haven't paid for October's services. I get very upset over that. I've had the same one caregiver for a year in a half. The services have improved.

We had some problems with the first caregiver because they were late at the beginning and they did not come on time. They are important to us because we have our own things to do in our lives.
Everyone in the office is well trained and they are aware of everyone's needs.

We became a Nu Care client in May 2017. We have been so happy with our care provider, Pat J. Pat has been our BEST care provider ever!!!! She is ultra caring and treats my mother with love and respect at all times. She is not shy when it comes to straightening up things in the room. She keeps the bathroom spotless and is very clean in the kitchen, all the while keeping a good eye on the status of my mother. It has gotten to the point where we feel she is part of the family. She never lets us down. We never thought that we would be this lucky to have such a great care provider!

I like that they're very good about communicating with me with just about everything. They're very personable and they listen to my concerns. I'm happy with the care that has been given to my daughter. As a parent of a special needs child, I need respite to just function because things are so overwhelming sometimes. Having someone come in and relieve me sometimes is refreshing and it helps me to refocus. I can get things done that I couldn't get done without the respite.
