We entered our relationship with this agency, in December 2020, with a good feeling based on the reviews. Don’t be fooled. We met with a good spokesperson for this agency, that is until things went wrong. Upon calling for help from her caregiver at 1am and getting no response, our 88 year old mother struggled to get out of bed and called her neighbor to come help her. Thank God she didn’t fall again, that’s what the caregiver was there to prevent. We were fortunate the neighbor came. The neighbor found the caregiver coming out of another room arguing with my mom. Reaching administration took effort on my part only to hear this was a case of “he said she said”. The caregiver was completely unaware my mom was up, let alone making a call. We were assured the caregiver would be counseled, not let go.

They are doing well with what I ask them to do, and so when my mother says she can do something, sometimes she can't do it.
I would like to see them following my instructions and not my mother's, who has dementia.

The caregiver is a sweet person but when I have to get up and show them where everything is that is just aggravating.
They haven't kept in touch with me enough and haven't returned my calls.

They are only there two days a week, but they give the other caregiver a bit of a break.
I like working with our coordinator. She stays on top of everything.

I gave them my credit card number and I did not realize how expensive it is. They keep billing me without telling me how much they are going to charge and they keep maxing out my balance.
Most of the caregivers that come out are polite and helpful.

There are things that I need to get done that I can't do. They do whatever I ask.
The only thing I'm not happy with is the communication with the long term care. They are too slow and I am getting bills that I shouldn't be getting.

It has helped me because I have more free time and I am learning from it. The two people that have been here have been excellent with my loved one. She immediately felt comfortable with her.
Their onboarding system is awesome. The staff is good at setting up the services and they understand the process.

I would say we did the due diligence on the research side and thought this was the best fit. The caregiver is constantly cleaning, making food, or straightening up things.

We've had issues with the caregiver selection. It's not very customized. We just tell them what we need, but we've had issues with that. If it's the right fit, it's very helpful. They give us the peace of mind that my loved one is safe and has a good quality of life.

Our day caregiver was amazing, positive, upbeat and lovely to be around. My mother really bonded with her. It made a huge difference to have that support. They were able to respond quickly to my mother's needs when she needed them.

There is a difference in caregivers that come but Home Care Assistance gives the opportunity to provide input and they listen to it. I am handicapped myself and the services respond quickly to my husband's needs. Having become familiar with the situation in our home, Home Care Assistance has moved forward with what they need to do without much instruction.

I needed some help around my home because I had broken my kneecap and couldn't walk, and I was rather disappointed with Home Care Assistance. My caregiver didn't know how to do the laundry, and we didn't get along. She thought I was too particular and I thought that she didn't listen to me.

Home Care Assistance can act on a dime; I called them and said that I needed someone for my mother and they found someone right away. The caregivers are also very capable. I could feel comfortable that someone was with my mother. I wasn't always comfortable that the transfer of knowledge was happening between shifts because my mother had memory problems.

I did like the fact that Home Care Assistance sent one girl that I truly enjoyed having here. She took care of the client through the night and was very patient. The client had to go to the bathroom every half hour or so, and she would help her do that. Some of the caregivers were very chatty. They seemed to be more into themselves and tell me their life stories, but then again, the client didn't want the caregivers sitting in the room with her. Basically, the caregivers had to wait for the client to call her, and they would end up sitting outside with me in the living room. They liked to chat with me, but I was extremely exhausted and did not appreciate the chatting all the time.

Home Care Assistance caregivers are not consistent, but they do go out of their way to make her happy, and make sure her medication is picked up and administered correctly. Without Home Care Assistance, my loved one would not be able to live at home but would be in a facility.

I would tell a friend that Home Care Assistance goes above and beyond in anyone who comes out. We had a lot of different people come like RN's, or PT's, and there was not one who wasn't superior. They seem to really like their jobs, and I think they took an interest in my husband as a patient and husband. They were all very patient and compassionate. They were supportive to me as well. Home Care Assistance did need to speak to me sometimes and ask me questions about how my husband was doing or ask questions about medication. I needed to be willing to be available for those questions and help them do their jobs.

I rated Home Care Assistance the way I did because of the caliber of the caregivers I have received. There has also been a lack of communication between the agency and myself quite often. The caregivers have at times neglected to clean my loved one and leave her un-bathed for long periods of time. I noticed that there is also a lack of attention to detail with the client.

I would tell my friends that it all depends on the caregivers. Some of the caregivers are good, and others are bad. They don't do their job. The good caregivers move my husband around and do things with him. Others just sit and stare at him and do nothing.

The people I met with from Home Care Assistance were very nice, so were the caregivers. They were considerate of the situation. The service from Home Care Assistance wasn't exactly what we expected. The caregivers mostly just sat in the room and got the client water. They were just bodies in the room and they didn't do a whole lot.
