We got Visiting Angels for my in-laws. It's the best, and it met all our criteria. The workers there have to take a course in caring for people with Alzheimer's and dementia. They were very good about talking to you. They were in contact with my brother-in-law regularly. It was very consistent.

I was not impressed with this company. They charge so much money for such untrained caregivers (they are a franchise). I felt very unsafe leaving my mom in thier care.

They are good about sending people over, but the people they sent were not trained to handle Alzheimer's (my mother's disease) patients. Although the caretakers were kind and good at cleaning, 2 of the 3 that were sent were unable to even shower my mother. Also, they want to be pre-paid for the month, which seems a bit strange to me. When we chose to cancel the contract, it took over a month to get refunded. I suppose if you'll be using this organization for companionship or help with housework, it would be fine, but in my mother's case, it just didn't work out.
