Right at Home provides personalized in-home care and support for seniors and adults with disabilities. Our caregivers are trained to help with everyday tasks that have become challenging. This may include meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, personal hygiene, medication reminders, mobility assistance, transportation and other tasks. We offer services for those with special care situations such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson’s disease and other dementias; diabetes; stroke recovery; and hospice care. Custom Care Plan
We know everyone’s needs are different, so we create custom, client-centered care plans based on our unique five-step approach to care. We take time to get to know you by discussing your health history, physical and cognitive abilities, daily routines, and personal lifestyle and preferences. This conversation is important to us because we want to help you determine the level and types of care you need and match you with the best caregiver to help you continue to live successfully at home, or wherever you call home.
Caregiver Training and Care Supervision
When you choose Right at Home, you can rest assured that our caregivers will deliver the care you or your loved one needs. Every caregiver goes through an extensive interview process, including background checks. We provide initial caregiver training through our Right at Home University before they can provide care, and we provide ongoing training to support best care practices. All of our caregivers are employed by Right at Home and are bonded and insured.

I think it went well, he was self-sufficient and just needed someone in the house when needed. I developed a good working relationship with Gurash and I think that dealing with him was a positive experience.
The personnel that are sent out are a little too inexperienced, and the age range is really too young.

I like the majority of the aides, but some are not as active to make sure he gets out of the wheelchair, and doing activities. They could encourage the patient to be more active.
I like the open communication, when I have a request they respond quickly.

Before I found Right at Home, I had hired, then fired three other well known organizations to take care of my father. Their staff was lazy, sleeping on the job and could care less about my dad.
I was so relieved to find Gulraj at Right at Home, San Mateo. When we first spoke Gulraj was interested in my dad, his history, passions and needs. Everything I mentioned, including that my dad was a photographer, was written down and shared with the care team. They would all engage my dad, make him laugh and make sure he was comfortable.
The staff were incredibly supportive, helpful, concerned and compassionate with my dad. I never had to worry if staff was late, sick, lazy or sleeping. Gulraj kept a good eye on everything and has been the most caring owner of a senior care company I have ever found. He answers his phone, supports everyone and helped through some difficult situations. Gulraj and his team are their for their patients and it shows.
My dad has now passed away, but Gulraj and his staff were there to the end and I couldn't have coped without their compassion and fantastic support.

The caregiver is very helpful and great but the agency has to invest a little more training in dementia. With the current caregiver I can't leave - I have to make sure everything is okay.
It's only average because we like the person they've placed with us, but they don't have the training that was promised.

We used Right at home for the end of my Father's life care. Right at Home has a majority of excellent care givers. One was not and we asked that they not come again.
We needed medication administration and Right at Home was unable to administer for us. The caregivers arrived on time and would usually jump if asked to do something.
If one does not need medication administration, I recommend them . Thank you for your assistance in the care of my father at the end of his life.

We're using Right at Home for my mother. They help with grocery shopping, light housekeeping, just generally watching her, making meals, and taking her to doctors' appointments. The aides are very good and very caring. Our communication with the agency is good. We text, exchange emails, and make phone calls. They're all very accessible in that sense. I'm thankful for their service.

It's a 100% improvement. The caregivers are very accommodating because my loved one is difficult sometimes. They want to please me.
I speak directly with the owner and they try to accommodate any wishes I have for my loved one. It's an ordeal for me as his wife.

My mother-in-law had surgery in January and again in February. R A H came once a week to assist her with breakfast/lunch as well as bathing/dressing as needed. I am the main caregiver and R A H came in to allow me time off. The people who came in were kind and concerned. They sat with, conversed with, and attended to all needs. I was appreciative of their professionalism and support. R A H also communicated with me to follow up on performance of employees as well as progress of my mother-in-law. I would highly recommend R A H should you need assistance and support.

It makes it easier for us as his powers of attorney. Between the two of us and the care giving, it has helped amazingly well over the years. I would like to see him go out for more walks.
The caregivers could speak better English. Sometimes the caregivers just sit and watch TV with him and they turn on a Mexican channel.

I have a good caregiver, but they drive me crazy because they talk too much. The caregivers need more training. They need to stay with me.
I would like to see them give the caregivers more training. I had trouble with several caregivers. I need help with getting around. One caregiver left me for a minute. They should have been right there with me. They need some younger staff.

The caregiver spent most of their time on their cell phone or the TV.
They need to have more qualified people and come up with a system so caregivers don't cancel at the last minute.

They're okay. There's one person that they sent out that I didn't care for, so I told them to not bring her back and they did that.

We've been a client of Right at Home for about 3 years now. Aside from an occasional hiccup when one of the Caregivers call in sick and don't show up on time, and occasionally RAH will send a Caregiver to fill in for the normal Caregiver who called in sick, that speaks very little English. This is a big problem when our love ones cannot communicate with their Caregiver. Otherwise, RAH has stepped up to the plate for us. So far we've been happy with the services the caregivers provide.
Outside of minor issues, we would recommend Right at Home going forward.

Right At Home was invaluable in my dad's recovery from stroke and heart surgery. Shawna (owner) and Julia (patient coordinator) met with us when my dad was still at the skilled nursing facility. This made the transition from snf to home very smooth. There were two caregivers – Helen, then Marie. Both were very kind and very attentive. They really listened to our needs, kept up with his many medications, blood pressure checks, doctor’s appointments, heating up his food, and left us detailed notes every day. When he first arrived at the house, he was shuffling, struggled to climb stairs, had difficulty getting up off a chair, and tired easily. The PT would come to the house for an hour twice a week, but this wasn’t enough. He needed daily physical therapy to help improve his balance and regain muscle mass. They made sure of this. At the end of 2 months, he was walking uphill, can get up using just his leg muscles, and had no problems walking up and down the stairs. The improvement still impresses me. During the last 2 weeks, he felt so great; he had Marie take him to the grocery store. I think it gave him a sense of freedom again. I can’t thank them enough.

Shawna is extremely helpful and responsive. After speaking with her, she personally came to visit my father's home and to talk with my family. I needed someone to care for him right away and she was able to accommodate me with scheduled caregivers. The caregivers were bilingual and very good. With everything going on, this was one thing I did not have to think twice about. I'm lucky to have found Right At Home to serve my needs.

We hired Right at Home, and it has been good so far. The caregiver is very conscientious and very good to my mother-in-law. The agency itself is really good with matching the people we want. Very friendly and seemed to be on top of everything.

I am not happy with Right at Home. We used them for at least a month. They have this little sheet of paper with everything listed of what they do or don't do, and I reviewed it. I felt they had all the things that I needed, so I went with them. They told me that they would be back, but they never came back, so I never had a signed agreement with them. They sent a caregiver who was good, but there was no way that she could do a transfer. I felt that they lied because I filled out that I need transfers on their sheet.

My wife has Alzheimers but I have been able to keep her here in our home for the last several years. Thanks to Shanina and her wonderful staff at Right at Home. The caregivers were always compassionate, understanding and and well qualified which allowed me to be comfortable in leaving her in their care while taking care of other matters. I give them five stars!

It has only been six months but so far they have been very good to work with. We had problems with the first caregiver and with no problem, she was changed out and given another. Shannon has been great to work with.
