About This Community
Established in 2013.

In 2014 HomeHero launched the fastest, most-affordable way for families to find senior home care. In less than a year, they onboarded 800 caregivers (filming beautiful video interviews of each one) and helped hundreds of families across California find senior care for their loved-ones.

But like many companies, HomeHero came from humble beginnings. Founders Kyle Hill and Mike Townsend watched for many years the struggles their parents went through finding, hiring and managing reliable in-home care for their grandparents.

They quickly realized that the country's home care system was old, antiquated and had been grossly neglected by the tech industry for too long. It was only inevitable that a marketplace company would come in and consolidate this highly-fragmented market using technology. In doing so, they could help millions of families afford quality home care, and disrupt the fastest-growing industry in America.

Like most people my age, I noticed that Dad was starting to decline in his health since Mom passed. After he fell and broke his arm, my siblings and I decided that he needed a little extra help around his home. I tried many agencies here on the Peninsula and none of them really worked for us. We then found Home Hero. You're able to easily find care professionals in the area and search for them based on my Dad's needs. Almost immediately after completing the online form, a nice girl from Home Hero called me and had a very educational conversation about the process. About 10 minutes later, I had scheduled a "Hero" (as they like to call them) and the rest was history. Not only was it significantly less expensive (About $5 less /hour) than the other services, but the customer support and service from the "hero" were exceptionally better. Another neat part of their service is I get a daily email with an mp3 audio recording from the "hero" after every shift. I'm then able to forward it along to my siblings so we can all hear how he is doing. As a whole, we've seen the life come back into our Dad. He is now walking a few blocks at a time, always clean shaven and ready to go and most importantly, he's happy once again. I strongly suggest this service!
