I have been meaning to write this review for almost a year. My dad has heart and circulation problems and my mom has Alzheimer's. They still live alone in the family home. As my mom's Alzheimer's started to progress, my dad sort of hid how bad it was getting. It became abundantly clear that my dad was out of his depth in taking care of my mom. She needed so much more and he was doing the best he could. We talked to him about going to a facility because I thought that was the only way to get the care my mom needed. He said that under no circumstances would he send his wife to a home. It was just not in the cards. He did agree to have a look for our sake, so we took him to a few of the nicer facilities and it just wasn't for us. After we found out that my mom would need to be in a locked up ward and there were a just random people caring for my mom, it was a non-starter. I started looking for in-home help. I contacted the Alzheimer's Association and Caring.com (in addition to a few others), and they all recommended Qualicare. And, I found out that they did that for a reason. All of their caregivers are Alzheimer's experts. I didn't know how important that was until I spent time with their caregivers and saw the way she took care of my mom. She lights up when they are there. It is an art that takes training and experience and I didn't have a clue. There is so much that goes into it. The caregivers that have been with my mom for about a year are they are all the same - which is to say that they are all exceptional people. They truly are doing this to help provide my mom with a better life. It's not a money thing because I know that we don't pay much out, compared to what we would be a facility. It's just like those people you meet who are doing a job that they were meant to do. That's Qualicare. Qualicare has been amazing. I have been trying for a year to get a company to provide experienced, supportive, professionals to care for my parents. My mom has been struggling with Alzheimer's Disease and my dad was just diagnosed with Parkinson's. Needless to say, they have a rough time caring for themselves. From day one, Qualicare did everything I needed and more. The caregivers have been excellent and they all have been trained in the details of caring for someone with Alzheimer's (which is so difficult) and they also provided a Registered Nurse to help with the care for free. We've used Home Care for my grandma for a few years. My grandma has Alzheimer's and Lieu Bodies Dementia. We used a host of different companies to help care for her and they all seemed the same. The employees changed all the time and they just didn’t seem to know what they were doing. They would send us care givers who didn’t have any experience with patients who have memory problems. Then we found Qualicare. They explained that all of their care givers are certified in Alzheimer’s care. That was enough for us to start using Qualicare. The difference in the quality of care we've received has made all the difference. They are so easy to work with and the care givers are all so helpful and experienced. They brought out what they call a ‘Memory Box’ with a bunch of games, puzzles and activities which help with the day to day care. They really seem to focus on doing the things that make my grandma happy and engaged. Qualicare has been fantastic. We highly recommend them.

My mother in law was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and we quickly found that we really didn't know how to take care of her. We heard about Home Care and started calling all the local companies to see what they could offer us. With virtually every company, we asked about their ability to support someone with Alzheimer's disease. The companies would tell us that they have had some experience with a couple of clients or that they have a caregiver or two with Alzheimer's experience. However, there really wasn't a formal program to help the caregivers provide the level of care that an Alzheimer's patient requires. There are so many things to know and we struggled to find someone with the necessary experience. Then we found Qualicare. They require all caregivers to become Alzheimer's certified and they are all managed by a Registered Nurse. In addition, they developed a Care Plan and a Medical Profile for free and also provided us with a Free Home Safety inspection that helped us to make the home safe and hazard free. Qualicare was so easy to work with and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Our caregiver is a gem and we are so happy with our decision to use Qualicare.
