They couldn't do anything better. I live alone, so I would love for someone to be here 24/7. I could hurt myself and there wouldn't be anyone here to find me.

Mostly I have her clean my house and that really helps a lot. I am stuck in a wheelchair and it is not easy for me to clean.

I had them folding clothes, and one lady stopped right in the middle of folding clothes because it was the end of her time, even though she had 5 minutes left.
The worst part of the care was when the caregivers came, they wouldn't finish their work on time.

Whatever I ask, she helps right away. When I have little problems, like making the bed and mopping the floors, she helps.
I like that they are flexible and that the person here is willing to work and will keep herself busy.

They are here, take care of my husband, and give me time. I know he is cleaned up every day, and I have a chance to get other things done.
They haven't had any trouble with the scheduling, and they have been flexible. The people I've had have been good.

I don't think they had an impact at all. I don't know what she could have done in her experience, but she didn't engage him or sit and visit with him. I don't think she knew how to deal with that individual.
Their response was good and the care was responsible, but I didn't think she was a good fit.

Any time the caretaker needs a sub, I feel like like my mom says no and then I have to come over. Also, when it's a work day, I won't be able to make it. When my mom has her caretaker, she does her job and does all the chores and the cooking and cleaning. She does it really well and is fast and very caring. She doesn't say anything personally and does not make it known to my mom. She takes good care of my brother too when he needs cleaning up. Some of the caretakers have downright scared my mom. The subject of politics or religion comes up, and I have heard some heated discussions. Caretakers don't need to show disappointment or disapproval of someone saying that to my mom. It's scary that a caretaker comes in here and does that.
I would like the agency to improve some of the substitutes. The caretaker that is here now is doing an outstanding job, but when she can't make it and my mom needs a sub for the day, some of them hardly do a thing.

My caregiver was the type of person who did not like to sit down, so she would do all kinds of things to help out. She would make up Thomas' bed, and helped with meal preparation.
Everything was positive. They had quality employees who always showed up on time and never missed a day. They provided compassion and empathy to their clients.

They've all been really good. They greet me at the door and ask me how I am as well as how the patient is doing. I always give them an update on his condition. They go with my update, and they do some physical therapy. They work his legs over, help him to walk and stand, and talk with him like a buddy. They carry on a conversation like they're family.
I get my people here when I need them. They are on time and do an excellent job.

They prepare meals, take care of household chores, do laundry, organize storage areas, and buy food items for preparing meals.
I would recommend it for someone who needs help over a short period of time, but long-term, I think the expense would be pretty heavy.

Some of the staff is not as well as other parts of the staff. Some of the staff at night don't give the impression that they are really involved. They're always talking to her and making sure that she is getting what she needs. The people during the day are doing great at that.

We have been with HomeLife for a while now and we have not had any follow up to see if they need to have a reevaluation of the care. I really like our caregiver, but she does not seem to be doing as much as she used to. They need to review the plan because things are not happening how they were planned to. I feel that the caregivers could be better trained in the problems that clients have.
