Hide anything of any value. We had a nightmare experience with Home Care Assistance. During the few months that my parents had care givers, items (including my Mom's wedding rings) disappeared from the house. My Mom only realized they were gone after her regular caregiver suddenly left and said she "never wanted to work with my Mom again." My parents had never had a caregiver before and this first experience has soured them on having one again. Elderly people are in such a vulnerable position and it's extremely difficult to find high quality care. I agree with others who said the care givers did not do anything that the agency said was part of what they do (light cleaning, laundry, cooking, etc.). They did not actually cook anything and would only heat food in the microwave. I know there are great care givers out there, but we did not experience that with Home Care Assistance. Spare you and your loved ones the pain and try a different agency. We were referred to Home Care Assistance, but not by a current client.

Service at this Company is very poor. Different caregiver each day without any warning. Beware.

If I'm not at home every day, they cannot send people here who don't know what they are doing. We have lots of tasks that we need them to do, and they do not do them. They help her get a bath and then they sit on the couch and do nothing more. I have to be there all the time just to make sure that she gets a shower. They are not professional at all. We will be finding a different company. They sent caregivers to us who had broken bones and were unable to do the work that was needed.

They need to do better with cooking. They need to improve on their cooking.

I'm often uncomfortable asking people to do things. My daughter writes things down for them to do when they come, but some people ignore it. I'd like to know more about them. People come and then they disappear, and it is really distressing to have somebody new. I don't really relate to all of them.

Hannah does my laundry for me, which is close to impossible for me since I use a walker and the washer is at the end of the hallway. She does my grocery shopping, which I also can't do. Those two things make my life so much easier. They come on time and do a good job. They are very friendly.

They make sure to take keep their promises about the care they promised us. We have been very lucky with the people that they send out.

I just need someone who can be perfect with my schedule. I've had nurses come wearing heavy perfume. They have also come over while they were sick. They came a little early when I didn't need them.
