For the past year, Right-At-Home Santa Barbara has been providing in-home care for my elderly parents. The caregivers are punctual, skilled and compassionate. They treat my parents and me with kindness and genuine caring. They have had to help with problems related to dementia (both parents) and mobility issues (a walker and a wheelchair). At the times of greatest need, we employed two caregivers from 7 AM to 7 PM and one caregiver from 7 PM to 7 AM. The owner is wonderful! She is smart, personable, caring, and conscientious. She goes out of her way to assure that everything runs smoothly, even covering night shifts when necessary. She has always been responsive to my requests. I have recommended Right-At-Home Santa Barbara to others.

Right at Home provided home health care for my mother during her final days. The moment we contacted them, the needs of my mother and our family were met beyond our expectations. I can never say enough about the kindness, professionalism, reliability and warmth of Right at Home Santa Barbara. Its staff cared for my 90 year-old mother for nine hours a day for the last 18 months of her life and we were overwhelmed by the love and expertise they brought to every detail of the process. The caregivers were never once late, they protected my mother when there were fires nearby and the electricity went out for 24 hours, they were constantly sweet and patient and precise even as her needs kept changing and her pain intensified--and the head of the agency not only came and filled in (sometimes all night) if one of her staff had to cancel, but drove up a mountain to bring us presents on Mother's Day and my mother's birthday, to give me and my wife baked goodies, to offer as much care and thoughtfulness as if she were looking after her own mother. The Right at Home team came to feel like our family--cherished friends--and when my mother passed away, I wrote to the boss even in the ER how much we were missing them already. Right at Home found a way to match caregivers exquisitely to my mother's needs--some were old, some young; oversaw her needs and got her to the doctor (and even to the hospital) when I had to be away; found ways to supply her with diapers and commodes and every last thing she needed; varied her diet and trained every incoming caregiver for three hours at least; and mostly stunned us with their humanity. Though we could never think of this as a business transaction, the business part was handled perfectly, with invoices every week, copies sent efficiently to a Long Term Care company and, after my mother's death, a refund brought to our dining-room table. In 64 years I have seldom encountered a company that so quickly won such a big place in my heart as Right at Home.

I contacted Right at Home for my mom and step dad just when the lockdown started. This was a unique situation when I couldn't visit my beloved parents and knew they needed extra care. Right at Home provided not just excellent extra care for my mom and step dad at this unprecedented time, but also matched my mother up with caregivers who became trusted friends as well.
