About This Community
Lifespan offers In-Home Care for seniors and disabled adults, Care Management by RN's and Social Workers, and Life Enhancement support by uniquely skilled Activity Coordinators. Our goal is to maximize the health, safety, comfort, and independence of our clients. Lifespan has delivered compassionate client-centered care to our local community since 1983.
Lifespan caregivers and care managers follow all recommended COVID-19 precautions to ensure the safety of our clients, their families, and themselves.
HOME CARE: Lifespan's home care aides provide typical daily care activities such as bathing, dressing, hygiene care, meal preparation, as well as shopping, errands and dementia support. We work closely with local hospice organizations when such care is needed. All Lifespan home care aides are trained, bonded, insured, undergo an extensive background check and are supervised by our professional care managers.
CARE MANAGEMENT: Our highly experienced and professionally trained care managers monitor health conditions, coordinate with health care providers, perform safety assessments, manage medications, provide support to family caregivers, and supervise our personal care aides. Lifespan can also assist with planning for transition to home from hospitals and nursing homes. Working families and family members living out of town report great comfort in knowing that our professional care managers are keeping tabs on their loved ones and helping to prevent crises.
SOCIAL SUPPORT: Our newest program, Well-Being, offers life enhancement activities to bring joy back into the lives of seniors who are less able to do the things that that have brought them pleasure in the past. Specially trained activity coordinators deliver individualized client-centered activities such as socialization, recreation, home organization, and more, including medical appointment escorts.

The most helpful about the service has been them not being afraid to get in and keep the house clean. I like that they are always on time or if there will be a delay.
I like that communication is second to nine and it is the biggest thing. We talk back and forth about any changes for him.

I think it really depends on the personality match between the caregiver and the patient. If it's a good match, it tends to be smoother than if it is not a good match.
I think their communication is pretty good. We have had to change caregivers a couple of times and they have been flexible.

It is nice to have as a back-up, but they are not her primary care. We are trying to get a new caregiver because this one is not the right fit.

She is pretty bad because of the level of the disease she is in. She would not be able to do it with out them.

It was very important. They helped by giving me a break. It was 24 hour care. He had dementia, so he couldn't be left alone.
The problem was that they didn't have staff, so I didn't have staff for the last six months. There was a shortage.

Lifespan has been wonderful! They have been very great at arranging for steady care as much as possible right now, despite that it has been a challenge. Lifespan has provided consistency in my mom's life.

We had Lifespan Inc. for a month. A very nice man came and took my step father out to lunch. I think he did a fine job. It just wasn't a good fit for our situation. Scheduling was fine. The gal that set us up was great. Billing was fine, too, but we felt it was a little expensive for what we were getting.

She's a difficult patient and is impossible to keep happy, which we understand. The caregivers show a lot of patience with her, which is great.
I think the communication is very good and that makes me a little more at ease, since I'm 3 hours away from Maryland.

The care that they're receiving is very appreciated by my in-laws. They often highlight elements of their day with the caregivers and talk about what a great job she's done and how kind and efficient she is. Knowing that they are positive about the experience makes me satisfied.
I like that they are transparent in their care. When we set up the arrangement they were very thorough in on boarding us including letting us know what the care included and did not include.

I was not that sick and disabled. I just needed more help. Sometimes they didn't have enough to do. I was getting better when they assigned the people to me and I did not have enough to keep them busy.

One of my daughters is a nurse and my other daughter doesn't live here so my caregiver picks up the slack. My daughter who lives away used to come up here once a month and help me with these things and now she doesn't have to as often.

When he was having issues, they were able to provide 24 hour care. They set appointments and talked to his physician. They do housekeeping and companion care for him. They have a wide range of services and we have been able to use all of them.
I like that they have case management and that they work with me and keep me updated. I like that they care about what is going on with my dad and are attentive to his needs.

Without the care during the week, I would not be able to work to provide for my family.
I appreciate the constant updates, especially with staffing. If someone can't make their shift, I always get a call asking if I want them to find a replacement. I always know what's happening.
