About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

I have been using Home Instead for nearly a year and a half and could not be happier with the level of care, compassion and service. My spouse has cognitive issues. Our caregiver has bonded with my wife to a level I never expected. She helps her not only with basic care but goes well beyond by doing her hair, skin care, makeup and nails. Those touches are what I think helped my wife get comfortable and trust the caregiver. She also helps out with household chores such as cleaning and laundry which is a great benefit to me. I am able to get some time for stress relieving activity and run errands with complete confidence that my spouse is safe, comfortable and engaged in activity. Home Instead office is easy to work with to adjust schedules 24/7. I highly recommend Home Instead.

Home instead helps me with my Mom - I work full time and can't always get her to her Doctor's appts. Home Instead caregivers pick her up, take her to her appt and bring her home. Then they report back to me as to what happened at the appt. They usually have a little time left to do a little housekeeping as well. They make my life so much easier, and Mom enjoys meeting the different caregivers. Scheduling is always easy and they have always provided a caregiver, even when I gave them little notice. I would give them 10 stars if I could

Home Instead has gone above and beyond in meeting our weekly needs since December 2020. We have a standing weekly appointment for a 10 hour day. Our caregiver is quickly becoming more like family and I would highly recommend their services.

Home Instead has provided in-home care givers for my wife for the past 13 months with shifts that usually last 12 hours per day 7 days a week. The care givers are well trained, courteous, appropriately dressed and always on time.
I worked closely with each care giver as my wife had increased complex health challenges during our engagement. Home Instead is good at providing the same care giver for repeat assignments. This is very important for me as it allow us to work together as an effective team.
There have been several times when I had changes in our needs. They never, ever, let me down. They always were able to provide me with a care giver, even when I had a short notice for our needs. Again it is very important to me to have a team that is reliable day to day and also effective when there are changes to accommodate our needs.
The staff appears to be happy at they work and is happy with the manage of the agency.
I highly recommend Home Instead for your in-home care needs.

I have used Home Instead primarily for transportation to and from Doctors, Dentist, and Physical Therapy. Drivers are ALWAYS on time and very professional. I am using their services until I can again drive myself.

During the last five days of my Husband's life these special people gently bathed him turned him and did what ever else necessary to keep him comfortable. They did laundry, served me tea and snacks, and they handed me his meds on schedule without being ask. In short they allowed me to stay right by his side and him to be at home where he wanted to be instead of in a hospital. They were compassionate, efficient, empathetic, angels hiding their wings.
Going forward these special people will continue to be in my life. I have declining vision and they will take me to Dr. appointments, shopping, the library etc. or shop for me. Always allowing me to be in my own home instead of a less desirable living arrangement.

This is who you want helping your loved ones! My Dad needed care and we weren’t given much notice- Home Instead was a God send. They quickly put together a small team and were in touch the entire way. Cynthia, Robert, & Dana are simply amazing human beings. My father was so happy having them there and they looked after him so well. I always felt care and concern in their interactions, even with Jen & Dawn from the office. I could reach them 24/7 & anything we needed help with was no problem. Our family will be forever grateful that you could be there for our Dad. Bless you all!

Three months ago, my wife -- nearly blind and with very poor balance -- fell in our home and broke her arm. She spent three weeks in Banner Boswell hospital and rehabilitation. On her return home, we engaged Home Instead (HI) for 24 hours each day, for more than two weeks. Their service was outstanding in every way. The nurses always came on time; they were pleasant, intelligent and highly skilled. They helped to clean and to feed her, and they anticipated and took care of my wife's every need. They were patient and devoted to my wife in every way. I would use HI without hesitation in the future and would unreservedly recommend HI to others.

We hired Home Instead to care for a very sick and weak family member, so that he could stay in his home rather than a nursing home. His care giver rocks. She runs him to appointments, takes him on outings, cooks, and does light house keeping. Not sure what we would have done without Barb.

They provided excellent care for my wife who was suffering end stage emphysema including 24 hour care near the end. The care people were very kind and caring both to my wife and to me and my daughter. Their professional experience and training were exemplary. Home Instead always met my needs no matter how fast they changed during the latter part of the illness. If someone was unable to be here, Home Instead always had someone else covering. I just cannot express enough thanks for the care provided.
