I have someone here, and they do my hair and make sure my hands and feet are where I can use them. They do things I can't do.
They could have gotten me a permanent caregiver more quickly than I did.

I don't go anywhere or do anything, so they help with making my bed . I can only walk with my walker.

The care has helped me a lot because I had a heart attack six years ago.
A Place at Home can improve by offering me help three times a week. Instead, I am only getting help twice a week. I would like for someone to come on Saturday instead of Thursday. The caregivers who have come into my home have been very respectful.

The caregiver we have helps out with bathing as I can't help provide it for my loved one; she cleans for us and with everything else we need, so it helps a lot.
I have been recommending them to everyone as my caregiver is a sweetheart to us and helps with everything we need; we are so happy to have her matched when other companies gave us a terrible fit.

The care depends on the people sent. Sometimes the scheduling as well isn't very positive, so we have to talk to others.
They should schedule better and answer the phones.

They provide a caregiver through the VA and that care goes to my father. That is the most important thing for us because I am disabled as well.
The caregiver is absolutely wonderful, but the owner's follow through is terrible. He does not call back.

Because Bobby has to be watched 24/7, it gives me a break and he is comfortable with the caregiver.
I would caution people to be sure to have definite days and times when and if I were to recommend them.

We have not had a steady caregiver since we started. Consistent care on a daily basis. If someone starts, they quit. They try to get me different people everyday.

The lady that comes cleans my house.
I would like them to be on time. When they change the schedule, it messes up my schedule.

I cannot bathe myself or do my hair and so when she comes she is able to help me with that. She helps wash my hair and braid it when she is here.
I like that they listen to what I have to say. They got me someone that I'm happy with.

They provide respite care for me every now and then. It is very hard to get scheduled.
I really never know if someone is going to show up or not. The scheduling is a nightmare because people just quit and don't tell them why.

My caregivers have helped me the most with cleaning, cooking, and overall generally working.
I would like to see the agency's scheduling improved, and I would like to see some of their personnel improved. Psychologically, the second caregiver and I differ. I don't care for people with the ideas she has, personally in my home. I have asked them to replace her and they have not. I am going to give them 2 more weeks to replace her. If they have not, I will contact the VA and change my home care.

Some of the caregivers A Place at Home has are amazing, but there are some management issues and we have had an unacceptably long lapse in care quite recently.

I am an ALS patient. I spend 19 hours per day in bed. The rest of the time, I am on my mobility chair. When someone can't make it, my day is severely impacted. I am supposed to have three hours of care every day. I cannot do anything without help because I cannot move my legs or arms.
I transfer with a Hoyer lift and we need more people who can use a Hoyer lift. This agency is contracted with the VA and I hate to see their money being spent on incompetent help.

I'd tell a friend that the agency is flexible and they're there when I need them.

Our caregiver cleans everywhere in our house. She administers my husbands medicine and makes sure that he is showered.

The caregivers I have had in the past have been tremendous. They help with modest house cleaning and helping me recognize things. They help me to remain stable since I've fallen several times.
They need to improve their scheduling. Sometimes they schedule when the person is not aware of the scheduling, so it doesn't work out as professionally as it can be. Sometimes the caregiver will show up and I won't be here.

Richard has a bell to call if he needs something and several times my son had to go answer the call because the caregiver was not available. But he does laundry, helps cleaning the counter and kitchen, and we appreciate it.
The caregiver goes in another room a lot and not available sometimes, at least not as much as we want him to be.

It made it easier to manage so I wouldn't have to worry about her taking her medication. I didn't have to worry about if she was being taken care of properly.
They could improve the communication about who the caregiver is and give us more information about them to make sure people get the right fit.

They help us the most by providing good service. When we first came to Arizona a couple of years ago I had no idea how caregivers worked. Alex the owner was amazingly helpful and said he would be glad to help us with the VA even if we didn't choose them which was very nice.
I have had several caregivers help the patient and they have all been very good.

If they send out different people, that is not good for the client or her animals. Having a different face change your diaper every time is unsettling.

I just had 2 surgeries which both set me back quite a bit. Without their services I would be in dire straits.
They have efficient people who are caregivers. They are on time and most of them do a pretty good job.

When they were here, they were good. When you have inconsistency of care, you have problems.
They were sending different caregivers and couldn't seem to keep track of things. She was supposed to be walking after six months, but she was still getting transferred because they weren't consistent.

The help is very needed. They just had to watch him. I had his food prepared and they gave him lunch. Now that he is in the hospital, I am going to need more care than just sitting with them.
We were having a little difficulty getting a person to show up. Sometimes they are late and are not on time. The company does not give them enough time between patients to be on time.

They weren't as helpful as I was hoping. It would have been helpful if they were reliable in getting a caregiver out here and on time.
The caregivers need to listen to what the expectations or needs are of the family. They just need to be trained better.

I liked them the first time we used them because I liked having direct contact with the caregivers. But, the second time we used them I wasn't allowed to talk to the caregivers.

The caregivers only do half of what I tell them to do. They just want to go home. When they do send a good caregiver, they eventually take her away after a month.
They send me different people all the time. They don't know how to clean the house, I tell them what to do and they don't do it, and they haven't done anything about my complaints.

There is no impact. They haven't shown up or they haven't been trained.
I want the schedulers to get their act together. I spent 3 months with 14 different caregivers, most of which weren't trained.
